I think the answer could be found in history. Computers definitely didn't exist in the past so just think about some of the things people did back then and it would probably be the same now. As for fun, there might be a big rise in sports-related activities.

Well, just saying "it would suck" doesn't really say anything. In a society where computer were never invented, we would have no higher technology then the internal combustion engine. This wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing though. In todays ever growing web-based age, people are losing the necessary social skill to properly interact in with others in a more personal environment. Communication skills are on a steady decline now that you don't have to leave the comfort of your own home to talk to someone. Before computers (I am mostly referring to the PC and internet) people actually went out and met others in a social environment.

With how far computers have advanced today, people tend to rely more and more on this technology to do their thinking for them. We are taught in school how to do mathematical equations on a piece of paper, but most people forget how after they pick up a calculator. Our current state of dependency on computers is nothing short of frightening.

A happy middle ground would be having computers to help us with things, not do them for us. As technology grows, more and more people tend toward complacency. With complacence, comes indifference - and this is a sure-fire path to self destruction.

I do not think it would "suck" if computers were never invented. They are very useful tools, but we seemed to manage without them for several thousand years, I am sure that we would continue to manage. We may not have the convenience of todays "knowledge at your fingertips" but then, it is only a convenience not a necessity.

LOL

I'm not sure, I get a lot of entertainment from the computer. It's hard imagining life without one.

What do you mean by "computer?" Be more specific. Do you mean the PC/Mac you're currently staring at? The first devices to go by the name "computer" were mechanical number crunchers designed to calculate artillery trajectories. Even further back were devices such as the Antikythera Mechanism, a computational calendar of sorts which could predict the positions of dozens of celestial bodies and astrological events. THAT was developed around the time of Aristotle (most likely).

So what would life be like? Well, we'd all be currently praying to one or more deities or spirits for rain, or for good fortune, or to heal a sick family member, or something of that nature.

Er.. Animation was developed without the use of computers. I think it's safe to assume that eventually Japanese animators would have created their own unique brand of cartoon (anime) as well.

I agree with peregrine829 that the definition of computers needs to be more specific. An abacus is a type of computer. In the 1960s, "computer" meant a huge mainframe that occupied a whole room. There were hardly any around. This meant that the lack of computers didn't make much difference to everyone's life. Also, what we hadn't experienced, we didn't miss. If you mean the sort of computers we are all using to access CR, it would be really boring without them. But then again having never known them we wouldn't miss them. Another thing to consider is that they were more or less destined to be invented. We needed something to increase our communications (internet) beyond the phone. It is impossible to picture a world where this one piece of important technology wasn't invented and everything else was.
