24 year old Cai Jin Lai aka frank has accomplished nothing but to daydream everyday that he is rich and powerful...in fact he is considered a failure, moreover he owes money from loan sharks who told him that his arms and legs will be cut off if he can not pay his debts. 25 year old Zeng Shan Mei is not rich but she is very hard-working, she has 2 jobs so she can support her family which includes her parents, brother, sister-in-law, nephew and also her boyfriend studying in hang Zhou. her friends scold her for being a martyr and not saving up for herself, but to her that is not a problem. her boyfriend who is studying in hang Zhou is bout to graduate so despite the disagreement of her family and friends, she resigns from work and decided to go to hang Zhou and meet up with her boyfriend so they can get married

On her last day of work Shan Mei as she was going through her usual routine of calling customers to pay their debts she overhears the loan sharks threatening frank. she saves frank from death. frank who wants to pawn the gold ring that his mother left him was being chased by the people he owe so he hides in the women's restroom inside the department store where Shan mei works. Shan Mei in turn mistakes him for a pervert and the two start arguing...unexpectedly frank's ring falls inside Shan Mei's pocket without her noticing it

On the day of Shan Mei's departure she gotin a fight with her mom who told her that if she will leave their mother-daughter ties will be cut off...Shen Mei is also worrying about her brother, sister-in-law and nephew, but her fathe told er to go on and search for her own happiness. When she arrived in hang Zhou she accidentally discovered the ring box in Jing Rong's possession. for several days she was waiting for the perfect moment where he will propose to her. when jing rong finally brought her to campus she thought te moment has arrived only to be told by jing Rong that he has fallen in love with another girl

With low spirits, Shan Mei pitifully went back to Taiwan and did not dare to go home or make contact with anyone. she was so hungry she fainted on the streets and when she woke up she found herself in the police station....Shan Mei tells her ordeals to the policeman and after listening to her sad story, the kind-hearted policeman told her that it is not true she doesn't have anything in the world cause she still has a ring.

Shan Mei was in a hopeless situation so she decided to 'borrow' the ring and use it for rent.....she will be sharing with a room mate. as she was fixing her things she sees her ex-boyfriend's picture and becomes sad. her new room mate has returned and as she opened the door she realized that her room mate is the 'pervert' from the ladies restroom Frank!

本名蔡進來的法蘭克， 24歲的人生只能用『一事無成』四字形容，他每天做著自己是豪門企業鉅子的白日夢，實際上是一個翻不了身的卡奴，現在還因向地下錢莊借錢，被追債上門且威脅不還錢就要斷手腳；另外，25歲的曾善美雖然平凡不有錢，但卻努力工作，白天她在銀行客服部上班，晚上去百貨公司當清潔工，並不定期到處兼差，除了要養家裡退休的爸爸媽媽、失業的哥哥嫂嫂、還有正在念國小的姪子小貝之外，每個月還定時匯錢給在杭州唸書的男友景融，好友玲瓏罵她傻不為自己存錢，但善美卻為這樣的付出甘之如飴，而苦讀多年的景融即將畢業，善美不顧家人朋友反對，辭去工作要遠走杭州與景融結婚。

善美上班的最後一天，她照例致電客戶催討欠繳，沒想到她在電話中聽見討債雙煞正在凌虐法蘭克，善美在鬼門關前救回了法蘭克；逃過死劫的法蘭克，想要拿母親唯一遺物一枚金戒指去當鋪變現，不料卻又和討債雙煞狹路相逢，法蘭克躲進百貨公司女廁，卻偏偏巧遇最後一天來打掃的善美，善美誤會他是女廁的變態之狼，兩人一陣混戰亂打，法蘭克的戒指居然落入不知情的善美包包中。

在善美前往機場的那天，母親水涼撂下狠話要和她斷絕母女關係，在哥哥嫂嫂及姪子的阻止之下，善美左右為難，當下善美父親火樹出面要善美去追求自己的幸福；到了杭州的善美無意間發現景融有個戒指盒，接下來幾天，她每天都期待景融開口求婚，終於，景融帶善美來到校園中，善美以為景融會如傳說般在情人樹下向她求婚，誰知景融竟是向她坦承已經愛上另一個女孩曉波…

可憐的善美黯然回台，卻不敢回家也不敢與玲瓏聯絡，最後飢餓昏倒街頭，等她醒來發現自己居然在警察局，好心的警察春雄（阿星哥哥）聽完善美泣訴自己的遭遇之後，提醒善美她並非一無所有，她還有一枚戒指。

善美被逼至絕境，只好昧著道德良心先借用戒指當作房租押金，臨時分租了一間雅房落腳，當善美整理行李看著男友照片悲從中來時，才剛回來的室友竟不識相的猛敲她房門，善美氣憤開門一看，站在她面前，即將與她同住一個屋簷下的室友，居然是那個在廁所對她毛手毛腳的變態色狼…法蘭克。
