if u have alot of time on ur hands like 1-2 months and money fly to japan. u basically have to force urself to speak japanese cuz almost no one speaks english. if u dont know any Japanese ull pick it up on the way. animes or jdramas are great ways but only work for little kids learning to speak it gets in ur head better.

Great way to learn japanese or any language for that matter is to sing it, because it's easier to sing a language then it is to speak it.

DONT and i mean DONT get a japanese class in high school if your asian, or colleges will think your trying to take the easy way out and this will decrease your chances of getting into a good college

I first started learning japanese when i pick out some words from the animes then see the subs for the meaning. It goes on from 6 years old to now.Now i'm attending a japanese class but still continue to do my old method!

I would say that you can learn japanese by watching jdramas or animes with subs on.Whenever your watching them, always get ready a pen and a notebook!>.< Have fun learning!

anime and jdrama are great, except there are different phrases you would use to say the same thing...or something of the sort. i'm having my friend, who is actually Japanese teach me some everyday sayings.

anime and jdrama is a brilliant way to learn japanese. i have a friend who learnt most of the basic language, word ordering and past, present and future tenses JUST from watching anime! i've tried the same thing but i'm more of a kinetic learner (or whatever it's called) watching doesn't really do much for me :(

i agree with u very true i can say a little though XD

I think watching anime and jdramas and stuff is a good way to get started. Builds interest and lets you get used to listening to the language. But to learn it properly you have to live in the country for a while. Even classes have their limitations.

Said it all! But there is a woman Rosetta Stone who has made programs and books to learn other languages! P.S programs doesn't start from the very beginning, but from the expressions and so on!!
