Mars is definitely one of the best scripts. It's a very deep and meaningful drama with a lot of plot to it. Nobuta wo Produce is also one very well written drama. The author had a really strong hold on the meaning of friendship, that really brought you to tears in the end.

You usually can tell from the first couple of episodes whether the script is touching or a real tear jerker. Tatta was really good and it was touching without having too much dialogue. It depends though.

I'm not too sure on what your friend is saying by 'writen'. but I do know that if you actual get a hold of kdrama script sometimes it can be quite different with many scenes cut out. For example (fobidden love-kdrama). I actually was madly in love at some point with certain dramas that I read the script after I watched the drama and it turns out that sometimes great scripts are poorly presented.

If your friend was referring to the actual sequence/presented drama scripts, there are many awesome speeches (sadly they cant be interpreted the same way into other languages, so you prob will never know which is a great writen work unless you learn the language-this will imply with all country's drama not just jap and korean)

It's more than the script though, you need good actors/actresses. The script can be amazing, but if the actors just suck or can't display that bit of emotion, then it's all been wasted and flushed down the toilet. A lot of the times it's the story or genre as well. Sometimes there are dramas that attract more attention than others. Like how romance is (now) more liked than a comedy.

I haven't really watched a lot of dramas (eh, 1 hour long episodes...and not a lotta subs out there) but I've really liked Evasive Inquiry Agency (a different type of k-drama), Dal Ja's Spring (typical romantic drama, but still had this charm that attracted me)...

Eh, it's hard to tell how a drama will become. They usually try to stuff everything in the beginning, and then usually it starts to dwindle towards the end and it's just not as exciting anymore (which is why I really like EIA, since it was strong all throughout) or everything just seemed forced (ex: I Really Really Like You). So I say watch everything until you just can't take it anymore XD but I haven't watched many (since most of them are romance) so...just close your eyes and pick I guess XD

There are definitely a lot of factors contributing to the success of a drama. But I think that the writing is what makes a drama stand apart from everything else. You can have a drama with a ton of cute stars and throw in a couple dozen cliche scenes that we all know and love and you already have the makings of a really successful drama. But for something to really stick with you, long after you've watched it, the script has to be beautifully written.

For me, Mars is the most well-written drama I've seen so far. The emotions are very real and beautifully expressed. It represents the perfect combination of great casting, writing and direction. I think Coffee Prince was pretty well-written too. You wouldn't think of it right away because its mostly a comedy but I love how the unrealistic premise produced some of the most realistic emotions I've seen in dramas. Quite good.

Hey so just recently I have been introduced to the world of Jdramas and Kdramas.

My friends from Korea and Japan keeps me up to date on what are some really good shows to watch.

Just the other day, My Korean friend said to watch the show "Pride". I LOVED the show great show. Later, when I mentioned to her the show was exellent, she told me

I agree, Pride is one of the most well-written series that I have watched. This drama touched me in so many ways---and not just in the lovey-dovey part.

I also think Nobuta wo Produce, My Name is Kim Sam Soon, Hana Yori Dango, Mars, and Goong are some of the best well-written dramas. They have an excellent plot, and everything just fits together so well, you actually feel so sad when the drama is over. I really miss dramas like those! Though I haven't seen any yet, I heard a lot of the dramas that Kimura Takuya plays in are all also very good [besides Pride], such as Long Vacation and Beautiful Life. I just haven't gotten around to watching those. And the Iryu Team Medical Dragon series are supposedly better than Grey's Anatomy. But then again, its only from what I heard [=

I think that Soulmate is well-written drama. It really seems realistic and it makes you think about love more.
Pride is also a good one.
I can't seem to remember all drama's that I thought it was well-written..

i would say the best written drama is nodame cantabile. i know it's adapted from a manga, however the way it was transfered into a screenplay is wonderful. you can feel the love the writers have for music. on top of that, the character development is done so well. you can clearly see the way the characters grow and develop through out the show.

Mars and Silence are well written twdramas. the story lines seem to flow very naturally.

In my opinion
Mars and Autumn in My Heart are the best written dramas
I've ever seen. HYD was great but idk Mars was just so deep
and phenomenal, same with Autumn in my heart.

The story line can be total jibberish but if the actors have
chemistry then it'll be a hit.
