So true. . .Azrael910: It's sad that 3/4 manga and anime fans are below legal age and have no income. It's sad but true. Without us older fans who support anime and manga by actually buying them and help donate to the services that fansub groups and scanlslation group provide there would be no anime or manga online. (most peeps who help sub anime or manga. . they are all older fans with income and life too so freeloaders, please don't bash them for slow subs or scans.)

Scanlations are for noobs. I buy my manga. =x

I don't come here to watch anime. I do it for the movies and dramas since they are harder to find on DVD. With the exception of Bleach and formerly One Piece.

Well, most of them started getting their anime for free too really, back in the VHS fansub days. Thanks to that, we have a fan culture that doesn't beleive in paying for anything since we've never had. VHS fansubbing didn't die even when DVDs were introduced and the popularity of anime started to explode - it only dissapeared with high speed internet became common enough to warrant downloading huge video files. Now with streaming media (like here on CR or youtube), many people are digusted with the idea of even waiting for their free anime.

It's really no wonder that anime sales are so poor in the US, few people are actually buying it anymore. The unfortunate part is the anime studios in japan are still charging an arm and a leg for licensing fees despite the increasingly poor sales of anime. Otherwise, we'd be seeing the price of anime DVDs steadily declining. The only that thing that has declined into the realm of feasability are this pack box sets - about the only anime DVDs I buy anymore.

I remember back in my teens, I would save enough allowance and whatever money I earned at odd jobs to buy anime on VHS, then later DVDs. I remember waiting eagarly after earning 30 bucks that month to hit the stores to get the newest volume onf Fushi Yuugi(this anime got really bad towards the second half and emo too) on VHS. Kids these days got it easy.

I still buy anime now, just not as much. Not because of streaming sites but because anime these days suck fucking balls. I still buy manga, like crazy. Come on you sacks of craps translating School Rumble, I grow tired of waiting for the next volume.

hmm... it's ok i've been a n00b since '98... broke-ass and cheap-ass but practical n00b... why buy it when you can get it for free plus you can burn and sell it to suckers at zero capital...
