Price of most cars in the MRS' year range = $14,000~$25,000 In the end, the best way to really compare if a car is worth modifying or not is essentially: - what you plan to do with the car - what your needs are - what you intend to surpass The MRS was a two-seater mid engine meant to target cars like the entry-level porsches and the suzuki cappuccino. They're also still a car of choice next to the supra and NSX for use in the SuperGT series. The MRS never really was a favorite for most people because of its low starting hp, the looks, and the powerband's sudden drops when shifting. However all of these have been surpassed, and thanks to constantly evolving technology, allow it to go over those hurdles. I do understand you need to throw a lot of cash into a car to make it look good... but that goes for ANY car. Even muscle car fanatics can agree you need to invest quite a bit to keep your car in shape, considering it's such an old car (which therefore stems problems of parts availability and overall reliability). I'm waiting for the MRS to drop to about the $6k range, haggle with a dealer to bring it to about $5,500, then I'll dump a bit more $$$ into it. and no, i don't agree it looks gay stock. but that's all relative to the person looking at it. |

I think porshe has gotten really gay, all there cars stay the same except for the inside and the engine which doesn't even differ that much ... porsche 911 turbo is still best one so far in my opinion

With that money you can get plenty of better cars the older version of mr2 for instance, to get more horspower and you can mod it to go faster or if looks are what you want i'd say the s14 kouki looks pretty damn sexy and with that money you can drop in an rb26 engine and still have pocket change to upgrade the looks so you have both power AND looks |

Finding the turbo version for under $6k is still a hurdle TODAY. Plus there aren't that many that are rust-free (seeing as it's a 91-96 vehicle i believe?) Yes, with that kind of money there are tons of better cars. I'd rather invest in an Evo RS if possible. However, I'm just saying if you'd rather not buy a car everyone else has in your price range and want something more upscale and rare, certainly the MR-X (the modified MRS) is a great alternative. |

etchasketchonme wrote: people use the word "gay" too freely to describe anything from cars that aren't good enough to food taste bad now a days. *Sighs* kids...That is quite true, don't know how many times the word 'gay' has been used out of context. "That's so gay!!" "Your gay!" "This is gay!" And various others.. Funny pic btw. I don't think any cars are stupid. It's just a matter of choice. Sure, I don't ever want to be driving a Prius, unless it's yellow and has a sign with "Yellow Cab" on top of it. Nor a Smart Fortwo, feels like driving a frigging go-cart with a shell. |
