Nissan 370Z Unveil at the LA Auto Show

And some pics of the final 370Z production car.

I agree with some people saying it's a pretty "ugly" car, but like many other cars, I really do believe the car probably looks better in person than it does in videos and pictures.

Well pretty much everyone has said it. Hyundai is cheaper of course but it has a dodgy history of being inferior. I've always been a Nissan fan so its only natural that I am partial to it.

However this is one of the reasons why I'm attracted to it. I am a complete stick shift junkie and Nissan has seen to it that I will be satisfied. It has the world's first SynchroRev Match manual transmission (only available on the Sports Package which sucks) which montiors the 6-speed pedal movement and makes for smootheer shifts and as we all know smoother shifts means more handling and power.

And for those out there that like the automatic, it seems there's something for you too. It seems that there are steering wheel mounted control paddle shifters. But then again, isn't that a common standard for the latest cars?

370z has got to be the uglyest thing ive ever seen. I think daewoos goes better exterior style than that pos. Interior is pretty nice tho, hope the build quality of the interior of the 370 is better than the 350. As for the genesis those koreans actually did something right for once. Good engine, rwd, 2 door. Body could use some work tho.

That is not the official car. There is a more up to date one and it looks a lot better.

Thats an old chop...
Here's a real Nissan 370Z in Chicane Yellow...

The new 370Z is lighter, stronger and has a more compact exterior than the old 350Z...
Once you get used to those headlights, its not bad at all.

Genesis Coupe or 370Z?
I''ll probably go for the more compact (more agile?) 2-seater Z.

The Nissan Z should only have a inline-6. It's a shame Nissan ended that tradition long ago...

To sum it up, I hate the new generation Nissan Z's, as they're not the true sports cars they're supposed to be.

The Hyundai, on the other hand, is a great attempt to make a sporty coupe. As long as I could get one with the top-of-the-line engine with a manual transmission, I'm happy. And for those doubting Hyundai, go look at their reliability ratings today. They used to make crappy cars, but not anymore.....

The straight 6 does not pass emissions in Japan. The GTR's V6 is heavily restricted to meet emissions as you can get 100hp from an upgraded exhaust and ecu tune alone.

That doesn't mean it can't be done. If it costs too much to make their current straight-6 meet emissions, they might as well make a new one, but that's expensive as well... *sigh*

BMW is pretty much the only manufacturer making sporty cars with straight-6s.....

I thought a strait 6 is more of a disadvantage as it spreads out the weight but a v6 concentrates it into a smaller package. I was reading some mag about tuners in japan putting the 350z v6 in skylines for better weight distribution and about them putting the skylines drivetrain minus the strait 6 into 350z's
