well well, its sad but most of the americans arent that great against any kind of foreigners.

They have that strange feeling around them that tells you to just keep quiet and to not attract attention. I dont know what it, but i think a asian, african, north america person would be treated better in europe or any other place then in america, But still the strange thing still is, if the world dislikes America, why is it still the superpower of the world. They must have something important that keeps attracting the rest of the world.

It's what bananapaws73 said, a lot of americas fucked it up and ruined it for the rest.

some americans belittle asians..americans tend to think very superior whenever they mingle with the asians..they think we are dumb but i guess they don't know the real score between asians and americans..that's what i felt before when we have to interview an american for our thesis, one of our groupmate started asking questions and the american just acted as if we were really dumb about this and that thing so we decided to change out topic for our thesis..it was actually a long story, but i don't want to write down all the details about the racist issue..sorry, if i have offended some americans here in CR but that's the 1st thing that would come up in my mind if the topic is about them..

Dude Im american and I totally agree with you, I have tons of asian friends and I can say that most of them are a whole lot more intellectual and smarter than I am. And I agree that americans do act like asians are dumber than them some of the time. Really I think asians in general (korean, japanese, chinese, Taiwanese, indian..etc) I think they are all cool, and most of them can be some of the best friends ever. And all the tests going on in the world, asians are way ahead of americans

I'm a black american... i don't think americans look down on asians(non- american i guess xP) maybe it just the fact that its like climbing a ladder you don't wanna be at the bottom but the top of the ladder reaching the highest point than anyone.. but if americans didn't get along with asians i don't think they would sell their rights to movies and video games. Also, there wouldn't be a DefJam Japan either. So asians work well with americans its just not shown on tv and yada-yada don't be so quick to assume things by lil bits of pieces .

lots of asians think americans are white, fat & loud. they eat fast food, wear jeans & sneakers all the time & don't know any other language other than english.
on the flip side, lots of americans think asians are smart, especially at math & science, uptight about grades, short, & have bad english.

so obviously not true, but that's what stereotypes are.

Well, I think that some Asians think that Americans think that they are superior so they would belittle others. Maybe some Americans are racists against Asians and many other groups of people. But I don't think this is completely true, I think it's a stereotype. Many of the American friends I have treat me with a lot of respect and they would respect my opinions on things even when it's completely different from theirs.
Probably the only thing I hate most is when they ask me, "Are you Chinese?" I just can't stand it when Americans or anyone in general clump different Asian countries into one group and call them all "Chinese." That is probably one of the most disrespectful things in my book.

I am Asian... AND American haha. Tough decision for me. Well that's a tough question though because not all Asian minds think alike you know, I just hate the culture barrier.

I can't really have a say in this because even though I'm Asian, I do live in the US. I live in a mostly white middle-class town, so if you're Asian, you stand out. In my town, most Americans think mostly about themselves. When we were talking about illegal immigrants, racist comments came in so quick. They don't really understand how it is to live on the other side. I went to my brother's soccer game a few weeks ago, and an eight-year-old was screaming at her grandparents. I was so shocked by that, how the grandparents just let it go. So I guess I don't really know how it is to live on the other side.

I'm American and I sadly agree with what a lot of people have said on here. I was lucky enough to have a dad who travels around the world for his job so I've always been interested in the cultures of other countries. It has also made me realize that America really has no culture of its own and I really hate that. I also agree with what people have said about the ego American's have. I hate the mentality around here that because we speak english, everyone else should speak english and very few here actually try to learn another country's language. But there are plenty of people here who are not racist and it's just really upsetting for me that those that are have ruined the country's image for the rest of us.

I hope this does not offend you but i think learning english while living here to me is a sign of respect for our language and culture. When i went to Japan i learned the language out of respect . I did not go there wanting other people to bend to me and my language. To go to other country and not learn the language is disrespectful.

If it's the other way around, i know americans think nerd when it comes to asia. They think 'ew' and asia is a place where they don't wanna go, compare to paris for example. And by saying that i don't mean to offend any asians, i am myself from france and i absolutely wanna go live in south korea. but if i try to make my friends listen to some korean music, they will automatically say no, and i really hate that because every country is different right ? it's really sad, but a lot of americans feel superior. oh well. ^^

i know it's not asians but for french people when they think of americans they think superior, hollywood, bush, american dream and big things ( like people, places .. no offfense xD )
lol

Interesting topic i've always wondered what asians thought of america

I think what she meant what that americans think everybody should speak english, as in superiority. It's true that americans aren't really interested in other countries, and come to knowing another language, they're not really good compare to some other countries. But you're right though, learning the language and the culture is important. Moving to another country is basically this, or else it's not really fun to be in another country and not learn the language, it's like a waste

whoa thats funny.
i live in a middle class white neighborhoood,
and attend an almost all-white school, and the first thing they asked me was if i was korean >.>
theyre not really racist towards me, but then again they might be saying it behind my back.
i have alot of black friends and white friends too.

but what gets to me is that some you call americans racist to asians.... but if you go to certain parts of asia, they trash on black people and white people ALOT. my parents are freaking racist to the core >.> im not saying thats EVERONE, but some asians are very racist.
