** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show** shinji wrote: I'm working with TV TOKYO to bring you the best anime titles immediately after broadcast! Starting January 8th, we'll have the newest eps of Naruto Shippuden, Shugo Chara, Skip Beat!, and many other titles on CR with english subs for ppl everywhere possible (with some exceptions like Japan). We're now working with so many great partners like Gonzo, Toei, ADV, Media Blasters, Directions, Udon, Organic, etc...and with their help, we've been able to bring some of the coolest Asian content to you guys. We are also working with even more partners in Japan to get permission to show all the content on the site (which means you can keep enjoying it!) Now with TV TOKYO, we're going to take CR to the next level--they're the largest anime TV station in Japan, they produced Bleach, Cowboy Bebop and premiered Eva (my fav anime of all time~!!) This isn't any normal announcement, but the beginning of something awesome for Asian entertainment! CR has been growing so much that now so many companies from Japan, Korea, and everywhere are noticing and wanting to work closely with us. We'll be getting content straight from the source, so the quality of everything will be much better, and immediately available from our partners (so we don't need to wait for user uploads!) Plus by watching on CR, we can help support the anime producers so they keep making more great content. All of us at CR have been working really hard to make it happen! I know ppl have questions, and I don't have all the details yet cause we're working them out, but check back for updates! Crunchyroll's come a long way from my original goal of sharing what I enjoyed so much with my friends. Tons of people have told me how they discovered anime through CR from their friends and can't stop watching it now. This site wouldn't be what it is today without you guys. Your support means a lot to me =D There will be much more good stuff to come in 2009, and I'll work very hard to make CR an even more fun place. I'll keep fighting forever to bring you more asian content more quickly. Long live CR~!! =D even you are talking like this can the other people besides the people in U.S and those other countries can they see it aswell =__= since that shitty toei don't let the other people like me watch it =_= and WHY naruto ..... i am sure that there is a load of narutards coming now ~sigh~ crunchyroll is doomed trust me ......... |

even if at the start of this deal is a big flop [imo] as in the site will have very limited videos and series with which to work with i hope the narutards can keep the site going strong and subscribe like crazy [i wont be one the site once th9is happens for quite a long time as i will give it time to pan out results] hopefully all the anime companys involved can recoop a sizable portion of the revenue lost to fansubs and dvd's not selling, which would in turn generate more interest from other companys in japan. if such a time comes as crunchyroll makes enough money to satisfy the japanese investors/anime corporations and pay for crunchyroll and their staff i will be quite pleased with your hard work and effort. by that time i am hoping that you will have lots of the older anime series ressurected on this site as well as new anime coming from almost all of the anime companys in japan! Hope fully in the long run stuff like this will lead to a revival of the goode old days of anime like when fate stay night , utawarerumono, jyu oh sei, coyote ragtime show, and other kicass anime were aired! also i am very curious about the other side of the coin here if or when this works or doesnt work [hopefully] it works i would love it if you could get into partnership with tvb and stream all the magnificent hong kong drama which is licensed and removed like days after it airs! anyway good luck and all the best.. . . . .. to all you narutards and people who watch gintama start dishing out that money for a membvership so the site can afford to keep their japanese sponsoirs happy! by the way its cool that the anime studio gonzo has a 20% share in the company really shows some inniciative to move with the times!

According to the press release, you're going to delete all the stuff not uploaded by the official anime companies? What makes crunchy useful is the fact that it makes available old/rare series which simply aren't available any place else (including stores). If you delete that stuff, you should hang your head in shame.

And from January 8th onwards, do we have to pay to watch animes from Crunchyroll? Sorry for the many questions I'm asking. Still, congratulations well I think you have to pay if you want to see them as soon as there released and after one week from the release you can view it for free. I guess we will just have to wait and see but I'm pretty sure thats how its going to work out here in January... lol then i think many people would say f*** you and quit it ~_~ |

Crunchyroll to Stream Shugo Chara, Skip Beat Anime Two TV Tokyo shōjo titles to join Naruto Shippūden on online service The Crunchyroll website has announced on Wednesday that it will stream Shugo Chara!, Skip Beat!, and "many other" anime series from the Japanese broadcaster TV Tokyo. TV Tokyo and Crunchyroll had already announced that they will begin providing the latest episodes of the Naruto Shippūden anime series on January 8 within an hour of their Japanese broadcast. The Japanese news source BB Watch reported that Gintama is also one of the five anime titles that TV Tokyo will distribute overseas with English subtitles. TV Tokyo and Crunchyroll said that the website will move away from the user-uploaded content that have been its mainstay, and focus on "professionally-produced content […] approved by licensors." The Shugo Chara! anime has been adapting Peach-Pit's popular magical girl manga of the same name since October 2007. Kenji Yasuda and Satelight's Shugo Chara!! Doki— sequel series began last month. Director Kiyoko Sayama and the Hal Film Maker studio also premiered their television version of Yoshiki Nakamura's Skip Beat! shōjo manga in Japan last month. The story centers on a teenager named Kyōko who followed her childhood friend Shō to Tokyo as he pursues his show business dreams. Despite playing housekeeper for Shō, Kyōko overhears Shō dismissing her as a boring nobody. Furious, Kyōko vows to also become an actress and "defeat" Shō. Thank you to ThatOneMan for the news tip. Image © Peach-Pit, Kodansha/Embryo Search Party, TV Tokyo http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-11-20/crunchyroll-to-stream-shugo-chara-skip-beat-anime I guess that this is true too. So what is the fifth title? |

Thanks, Shinji for getting these anime available for the masses outside of Japan to see these anime.
If the content isn't an anime episode, it will survive, most likely. If it is an anime episode, it'll be deleted. |
