Crona is presented with having an ambiguous gender, and although hints are given to identify Crona's gender, nothing has ever stated it exactly. Crona refers to him or herself with the masculine pronoun boku (僕, boku?)—Japanese for "I", a rare occurrence among females.[1] This is due to being taught at an early age to kill and torture small animals by Medusa. Crona is Ragnarok's meister, and is initially under Medusa's orders (and control) to take any soul they find, be it evil or good. Crona is a very naïve and submissive person who is constantly pestered by Ragnarok in the form of noogies and threats to eat Crona's share of food. Crona does not like to fight (often unable to overcome any obstacles presented) but Medusa normally introduces a spell into Crona's mind that increases Crona's aggression. Crona's blood has been entirely replaced with 'black blood' which both protects Crona from physical harm and provides a degree of healing. Ragnarok, originally a normal weapon, was melted into the black blood before the transfusion, which causes their symbiotic nature. The first friend Crona makes is Maka, who saves Crona from his or her sense of despair and isolation when Medusa attempts to resurrect the kishin. Crona at one point takes trial courses at Shibusen to learn the proper way to be a meister. Crona is so negative about everything that after writing a poem, it was so depressing it managed to make Black Star, Maka, Marie, Soul, and Sid hide in a corner after reading it. Crona is trying to adapt to interacting with more people, which may take some time because of Medusa's abusive treatment. Crona normally stays in a corner of any room, and will cower in it if frightened, calling the corner of his or her room 'Mr. Corner'. Crona mostly interacts with others only when Maka is present, since Maka can easily tune in to Crona's soul wavelength to be understanding and calming when needed. Due to Crona's lack of interaction with others (other than eating their souls), Crona has nearly no experience in interacting with other people, hence Crona's catchphrase, "But I do not know how to deal with it." When Medusa returns, Crona acts as a spy, but still considers Maka a friend. Medusa claims that Crona has been captured by Arachne and is to be a live-sacrifice.

Attacks: Like Maka, all of Crona's attack are used together with Ragnarok.

* Screech Beta : A powerful slash in the form of a mouth
* Screech Alpha: Same as the Screech Beta but launch at the enemy as a projectile with explosive results.
* Screech Gamma: A multi-slashing attack that release sound waves in succession.
* Blade Slight : Crona will cut his or her own wrist and then make a flinging motion with the arm, when this happens Ragnarok will change the blood into a blade for medium ranged attacks.
* Black Dragon : A soul resonance when Ragnarok will absorb all human soul eggs and morph into a dragon-form. All of Crona's attack are enhanced.
* Bloody Needles: This attack has to do with blood that has been spilled, transforming it into black needles that stab trhough the opponent if they get too close. This is only used during Crona's first fight, however.

In my opinion i think Crona is likely to be a girl as she is very close to Maka

first time medusa refers to crona, she calls crona a boy. In my opinion i think crona's mother would know better than any of us. XD it doesn't matter anyways, crona is close to maka just because maka was able to save crona. Plus i think i remember ragnork refering to crona as a boy a couple of times. The question should really be what is crona's gender in the manga, because at first medusa called crona a boy, then later on in the story people started calling crona a girl.

I believe that Crona is a girl yet she has anambiguosy in her character. In my opinion the reason is the way that Medusa raised Crona in her childhood. She was so lonely and she had no friends. she is raised to obey as an object not as a human being. she never had to envolve with people but only when she has to kill them. Also, she had spend most of her time with Ragnarok soul who is a BOY, so that's why she acts like boys sometimes. ^_^ I'm done hehehe.

in the manga, crona was refered as a boy. but no one really knows for sure. but she sorta acts like a girl to me. only time will tell
