Crona is a boy it says in the manga

In the manga Medusa said that she is her daughter, it could be a translation mistake, or Medusa doesnt even know herself.

well i think Crona is a girl due to the fact she was wearing a dress when she was younger, in her "world", and one that is a bit longer when you see her...although she might be considered more a tomboy due to her male weapon and there are cases where they adapt to acting boyish (like Toma Minami the tomboy in minami-ke) and wear male clothes...then again it could just as well be another haku moment from naruto.. but i still think Crona is a female..

Do you know japanese? Because I bet your assumption is based on the subs. I noticed many mistakes in subs revolving around crona. Crona is CLEARLY a boy. He uses "Bokuwa". Boku is only used by males within the japanese culture. However, "watashi wa" can be used by both female and males. YES YES, he's in a dress, and everything, but warlocks usually wear dresses like that too. I am not saying he is a warlock, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a son of a witch being trained to be a warlock, so she put him in a dress. Also, his personality fits a male better. It's odd to see a girl get beat up by Ragnorak, and it's odd to see a girl get pestered around by medusa. Besides, why would medusa train him to be a demon blader if Crona was a girl? IF she was a girl, wouldn't it make more sense to train Crona to be a witch?

I think Crona's a girl... Technically Medusa never called Crona a boy OR a girl, she referred to Crona with the word "ko (child)". Some translators (in both Anime AND Manga) didn't keep the word child and changed it to their own interpretation of Crona's gender. And actually the word "boku" isn't only limited to males dmak... It's a little rare for girls, but its commonly used in song lyrics and by tom-boys.

Really, I have no idea. I'm just thought that it might be more likely for Crona to be a girl after seeing Ragnarok pulling up his/her dress-like thing as a part of his minor bullying... It's just that from what I've seen, showing guys' underwear in anime is no big deal. Showing girls' underwear is either part of a joke, or fan service (cough).

So are you saying Crona's a tom boy? Whether you are a guy or girl, you would act the same way if someone pulled up your dress. I was under the impression that Ragnorak is picking on Crona.

Some of you people misunderstand; you say the manga and anime refer to Chrona as either a boy or girl, but this is just the translator's opinion. That's why some translations or subs may say that Chrona is a boy, and another might say that Chrona is a girl. Personally, I lean more towards boy, but since it has never actually been confirmed, no one can say for sure. When I first watched the anime, I never even thought that Chrona could be a girl, but that just might be me.

The part with Medusa explaining to Stein about Chrona being her daughter/son was mistranslated. What she actually said was "Chrona is my child." There was no mention of gender. Once again, this is because of the opinion of whoever translated it.

Someone should ask the author. That would clarify it for sure. But it has never actually been confirmed his/her actual gender.

Who knows, with Crona's strange upbringing I doubt that Medusa would ever bother to correct him/her to use the proper term to refer to him/herself anyway... And yes, I mentioned that Ragnarok was picking on Crona (hence the word 'bullying' was used) and I don't actually know what Crona's reaction has to do with anything. I was just saying that in anime or manga, I've never seen a guy getting bullied that way, but I've seen plently of examples where a guy would lift up a girl's skirt as a joke.

Sometimes in the subs they call crona a boy others they call crona a guy. No one really knows for sure. Its part of his character not to not have a specific gender.
Somehow, i feel crona is a guy. Ragnarok reminds me of a bully bullying a lil kid. XD I dont really see him much as a girl
