I liked the Japanese one better. The Korean drama (like a lot of Kdramas) dragged a lot and turned more soppy than dramatic like Maou. But that's just my opinion. 8D

it's funny how the Japanese verison of The Devil received better ratings than the Korean one. I think it's because Korean people aren't into suspense drama.

Some of ya'll are saying that the Japanese verison is better than the Korean, how so? I really liked the Korean version for the story-line and good acting.

It's true that Koreans still need to improve with building up the suspense of their dramas.
I've already watched the Korean version, "The Devil", and it was actually good.
It got me all thrilled but then it got pretty draggy by the end.
And the ending wasn't at all nice. It could still have been improved.

From my perspective, Maou received higher ratings than Mawang because of how it was made.

I watched both and it seemed that Mawang had a lot more things hidden about the Devil, while Maou had more scenes that actually showed who was the culprit.

However, this is purely my opinion.
