I just build my own computers, it's really easy. I don't understand how people can be so afraid to build one, when they get a better price and a better build.

I have a PC, and I prefer upgradables than HP desktops, laptops, and Mac. I get upgrades on parts almost every six months.

For now I have an Internet-connected desktop Pentium 4 2.66 GHz (overclocked to 3.0 GHz), with 2 GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce 7600GS AGP graphics card.

But soon I'll have a CPU overhaul to Core 2 Duo when I'll have enough money. It will require a motherboard replacement, new DDR2/DDR3 RAM, and a PCI-E slot compatible graphics card. It's a big cost so I have to be patient for now.

My upgades are games-oriented that's why I always strive for high-end parts for high-end speed and graphics.

Screw the Core 2 Duo, get the Q6600 Core 2 Quad. Its around 2.4 Ghz. Overclockable to 2.6 safely, but you can go higher if you push it.

I myself have a iMac though, running a 3.06 Ghz Core 2 Duo, with 4 gigs of 800mhz ram. So its fast enough to handle most cpu intensive tasks. But for a PC user go for the Core 2 Quad Q6600. And if you can get a Mobo with a 1600mhz Front Side bus get it, and always get 800mhx RAM, your system will thank you.
