I think it is really hard to have a friendship with an ex. My experience with that attempt didn't go well and I've tried it multiple times with her. After being with someone romantically it just kind of ruins the chance of having a normal relationship with that person. Jealousy gets the best of people sometimes.

Because they're still heartbroken and need time to heal.
Being friends doesn't really help it... it just makes the person who is heartbroken feel even worse.

But gosh, some people can be really immature about it.

i guess it's just the awkwardness.
'cause like what are you supposed to talk about after you've broken up?
it's just not the same as before the breakup or even before the relationship started.

Never had a girlfriend so just strictly observation.....

I don't think it's really a method of moving on but really avoiding awkward situations. There's two kinds of breakups, ones where you stop having feelings for your partner and one where you still do. It's basically a relationship in in the hamper, it's up to you weather if your willing to work it out and steam out the wrinkles or leave it alone. Looking at society it's like some sort of tradition to stop talking to your EX for some reason so it's not common to see people having a good relationship with their EX's.

If I were to breakup with my girlfriend I would defiantly try my hardest to maintain a stable relationship because the people I date, and only will date, are people who I know for a fact means something special to me. I'm not like everyone else, I'm not confused of what I want ;D

the easiest way to step away from your past relationship is to forget her...

so we usually ending up removing them to our list and at least never talk to them for long to easily move on...

it's part of it... unless you'll keep her on your list and will wait for the right time and see if you are really meant for each other then will do everything you can to win her back if you realized you really love her despite that break-up...

that's the easiest way to move on... forgetting.

when you are completely moved on... and there's no feeling anymore... that's the time you can easily talk with her again without the feeling...

just like me... I remove her on my list to my accounts and still after so many weeks... we talked.

but still there's a feeling... until I realized I have to stop and it was really over.
