It is all speculation, really.

I'm surpised by how many people think girls read more... that may be true...

If there was a really survey done... my guess would be that it would actually be more of a tie than at either extreme. I'm a girl, and I don't just read shoujo... by the way.

Females are the actual winners of the read manga more contest, a poll done by several manga publishers in america have found that more girls read manga then guys. Dark(Black) Horse was on of the companies that had the article lol. I know this because I did a Manga research paper for my senior paper in highschool.

I don't know why you care, but personally I think it's girls, though guys aren't that far behind.

WOW how shallow...Why shouldn't guys be allowed to read shounen? I know guys who read it except some of them denied it and only bring weird football manga to school. Everyone in my class read twilight...so it shouldn't matter.

its why should guy not be allowed to read SHOUJO
shounen is aimed at guys
shoujo is aimed at girls

and i get called gay for reading twilight a lot >.>
it doesnt really matter a lot
people are really surprised and say

OMG YOU READ TWILIGHT?

SHIT sorry yeah...

And why the hell wouldn't you read twilight? Like I'm no big fan but I think the story is pretty-a-okay and lot's of guys I know read twilight, and still is. They probably do read twilight, just at home with their doors shut, their twilight poster under the bed. NOW THAT'S GAY!!!
