Well.....interesting topic......i guess......why do black people worry so many people! What about Mexicans barely being able to speak English? Or Asians complete inability to drive? Whatever!!

These are all sterotypes and they apply to some and not all! Same with black people. In todays society, I'm sure alot of people are aware of a black males struggle. The so-called "negative black sterotype" is something that is mostly attributed to teen black males, just like whites or any other race you try to fit in by doing certain things ( emo, goth, prep etc.) Depending on the persons background ( socio economic situation and neighborhood) it affects the person to fit in. With Black people we are exposed to rappers more than we are of our positive counter-parts ( lawyers, doctors, professors), not saying they are few and far between but Blacks seems to fall into the "negative black" because its popular within their social circle.

Yes, no one is forcing them to be this way but when a black teen is introduced to rap and not positive role model they tend to go this "so-called negative way". It's just like anyone who thought something was cool and they decided to do it and learned that it wasn't cool. Its just a matter of association and enviroment.....If you surround yourself with gangstas, you will act like one, if you surround yourself with stuck up bitches, i'm sure you will pick up some of their habits.

But the reason is not good enough to most people in this thread, that just because your friends are a certain way doesn't mean you should be, but hell if your parents are like that, your family, classmates, and etc are like that; Then it is often hard to try and be something else that has influenced your life so deeply!

It's not a black thing its a HUMAN thing! Stop trying to understand the black people and understand yourself.........I'm so sick of these threads, worry about you and black people will get to the promised land of equality and acceptance! Also the sterotypes will never die no matter how hard we try, because racism is recycled!

Good post Raja.

This thread is way too general, that's why I hate threads like this.
