a lot of people are laid back, the culture is laid back
i love that
corruption...?
i know the older cops (the ones around their 40's) are corrupt, but it makes sense. think about it, if you earn 1-2k usd a month as a cop....I would take bribes too. Plus, a lot of foreigners would rather pay the cop 50 pesos (about 4.5 usd) to let them go instead of having to fill out all the paper work and waste their time when they are on vacation...I know the younger fresh cops are very hard to buy and will mostly reject you.
-then again, the standards of living are low, so 1k usd can go a very long way....
Rent is cheap 200-300usd for a decent 2 bedroom 1 bathroom and small front yard with parking space in the city of Tijuana. If it wasn't for the long ass border....I would live their and work here. Rent in San Diego, the lowest I could find was 850 usd for a crap apartment.
Clubs in Tijuana are awesome too. The Cerveza is cheap, not by much, but it saves you cash....and I love latinas.
I love that everything's cheaper. I go to Tijuana to buy medicine, get medical check ups, dentist, oculist, car repairs, car wash....mostly everything that can be done by hand. It's a lot cheaper. I save at least 4x what I would spend here in pricey San Diego.
What I mostly remember from Mexico, Tijuana to be specific...Is the long border...on holidays it's like a 4-5 hour wait to get through to the US...Mexico doesn't have a long waiting line, basically, you just enter, they check people at random...laid back.
