No they're not and it wasn't a cliffhanger I'm pretty sure they cleared everything up, Saya will wake up in another 30 years and Haji is alive and will "awaken" her..again.

To lead up to the Blood+ anime series, three Blood+ manga series were released and published in three different manga magazines. The collected volumes of all three series were published by Kadokawa Shoten.

Blood+, by Asuka Katsura, is a five-volume series that first premiered in Monthly Shōnen Ace in July 2005. It covers the same story events as the anime series. Blood+ Adagio, also called Blood+ A, was written by Kumiko Suekane. It is a two-volume series that premiered in the September 2005 issue of Beans Ace Magazine and follows Saya and Hagi's experiences during the Russian Revolution. The third series, Blood+ Yakō Jōshi, also called Blood+: City of the Night Walkers, is a single tankōbon series by Hirotaka Kisaragi. It premiered in the September issue of Asuka Ciel.Set in Shanghai, it follows Hagi as he searches for Saya and the complications he must deal with. Unlike the other Blood+ manga adaptations, which are both shōnen works, Blood+ Yakō Jōshi is a shōjo manga, particularly of the shōnen-ai (or Boy's Love) genre.

All three manga adaptations have been licensed for release in English in North America by Dark Horse Comics.

WHY DOES EVERYONE ASK FOR A SECOND SEASON FOR EVERY GOD DAMN SHOW THEY SEE!?

As said before it should be pretty obvious what happens...

STOP ASKING FOR SECOND SEASONS, STOP ASKING IF THERE ARE SECOND SEASONS.

The show went on for a god damn 50 episodes, if they made more episodes they would have REALLY REALLY dragged out some storyline....

Either realize the ending actually had a closing, or do the god damn research yourself. If you find nothing, there probably won't be one. Check to see if the manga is further... Just shut up about second seasons, it's fucking annoying.

They are filming or are almost done filming the LiveAction movie for Blood+. Probably as close as they will get to continuing it from where it ended in the anime. However, some ingenious authors could make enough interesting shows to run past 200 if they go back into the past history and do it with Saya, Diva or others in the past yet unknown prequel stories and characters.

I think it was fine the way they ended it and there's no need for a second season.

No I do not think there will be another season. The plot of the story made a full circle and almost everything was explained at some point. However I do understand the desire for more episodes. Its hard for those who really get into a story to see it end. Its odd sometimes that thungs don't feel like they've ended until you see exactly the ending you want, as in everyone happy and together, and/or the lovey-dovey characters engaged or married etc. Of course to make more episodes as a continuation of the story line might actually be a bad thing. So manny times I have seen a story ruined by a sequel. Rogdol's idea of a prequel is a interesting idea and might actually work. This was a good anime and I like the ending.

if you watched the anime closely enough, then you already know what's most likely to happen when Saya wakes up
having a second season would indeed be pointless

unless, of course, her nieces turn on each other
then it'll probably be a whole Saya vs Diva war again
which, as I said before, would be pointless
the only possible difference I see coming from that is if the bad niece actually wins, and the good one dies...
the only one left to fight the bad niece would be Saya, really

but again, pointless
