Sweet mother of mercy! This is a first try?! I've been drawing anime since I was 6 and still can't draw this good! >.>

Totally looks like it was traced.

The person who posted that drawing said:

"I usually draw, scan onto the computer, and take off the places I've erased and made mistakes on using Photoshop so it doesn't have that crappy smudgy look."

So it was not traced

I definitely think this was traced. Even if they pretend to say it was photoshopped, I have seen more than enough trace artists to know what to look for in an art to see it as traced. The so called areas where they maybe actually 'took out the smudges' are so minute its laughable. I see maybe 4-5 spots where they might have done this, and it looks like they maybe did it to 'remove' the smallest of lines where maybe they didnt trace it as nicely as they wanted to.

But if you look at the line consistency. It is really inconsistent in many places, like parts of her hair for instance. And there seems to be confusion as to what was being traced, where the person who did the trace couldn't tell what it was they were trying to copy so they just kinda winged it (Again look at the hair, and also at the area of her skirts, and the part around her neck where only some of it is fringed like cotton and other parts are not, etc.

Not to mention this is obviously from To luveru or whatever, the character Mikan. But on her deviation on DA she posts it is kagome from inuyasha (Looks nothing like, what???)

almost exactly 2 years ago now haha :O First 'proper' drawing I had ever done I suppose. Hadn't done much other anime stuff until about 4 months ago, but I have lots of sketching and tablet experience from product design... My latest thing is on the rate the artwork above you thread, first proper go with watercolour on Manga Studio...

One of my better ones here:

I draw these on pen and paper (that one is notebook doodle) Then just take a picture and upload them...
I drew the Luffy one like 2-3 Years ago? I stopped trying to draw though because i really sturggle to make my own characters and it seriously bugs me.
