People in Japan work in groups, while people in the USA are more independent. They highly believe in teamwork, which is helpful in many situations, especially in businesses. So I think they get more done..but I wouldn't say they're sooo much better.

From what I understand (and see) Japan has a higher and larger industry in computing and robotics. America has a fairly large industry in that area, but I believe Japan seems to have a larger one (of course I am not stating my opinion as fact, this is just how I see it, I need to research on it)

The US has a huge lead when it comes to military technology and weaponry (best in the world). We also have a larger pharmaceutical industry and are the world leader in medical research. I do think (and have heard from several sources) that Japan has the fastest broadband internet speeds in the world. Japan is the birthplace of many game systems and game companies, of course the US has a sizable gaming industry as well. The US is the home of both Macintosh and Microsoft, I do not believe that Japan (or any other country for that matter) specializes in operating systems and hardware. Both the US and Japan have different statistics regarding technology, calling Japan more technologically advanced would depend on your definition of what technological advancement is.

After i saw that you could pay for a soda in a vending machine with your phone in Japan........I wish we had that here in the U.S.! I think that as far as consumer products( via. Blu-ray, PS3, DVD etc.) they are technologically advanced.......but in others of course not the U.S has more money and tech minds...........

it just depends on the area of research. US got all sorts of war machines, spy equipment, space equipment and industrial machinery etc. Japan's got stuff people use and see more in day to day life, like hi-tech toilets and household robots, so the technological progress is more visible to the Japanese public.

Do not forget Japans Body suet that enhances your strength 10 times. Made for people who are weak to carry heavy things like fat people, or small cars.
America is still pissed that Japan will not let them take that tech they use to aid the people, so that america can use it for War.
In the end Japan shares there tech with its people. America does not, they hide there tech and keep it for only there Government and Military use.

So tell me who is more advance? Tech that everyone shares, or Tech that only a few Government people can use.

Yeah I found that chart off as well. And its true Americans people do not see what tech we have. Only the Government and the Military. In Japan they share there tech with there people. Thats why I don't count America that high in the tech world is because you don't get or see the tech in america unless your Doing the right job for the government. If your to look at the tech Americans people have, and compare it to the tech Japanese People have, not adding in what are military has or are Government, You find we don't have half the tech that Japan has in that case.

I found that list... Took me some time to see what there judging by.
There Judging by Military and the Governments had for tech. Not what Joe Smoe: "The people" has for tech.
'You Forget a few factors you have to look into wen your talking about this. America will not let Japan Build a military, so its hard to judge Military tech with them. SO Already because america will not let them have one, there already losing out on this not so well put together list.

Its Nice and All that Americas Military and NASA is so advanced, but what if we was to look at the tech the people of that country has compared to other countries. If that was the case both Japan and Germany would be to the top, Fear not Denmark would be able to stay up there as well. But America no they be down to about 15 or 16.
You forget not all countries hide there tech from there people. America is one of the countries that have a government that does not like sharing what tech they have with there people. So if the people of the country is not able to use the Tech, is it really counted for them!

Hong Kong isn't a country now is it? Don't you mean China? Anyways I don't think this is very accurate for some reasons and one being something Darkphoenix3450 kinda pointed out, some countries hide their technology so why make a list when you don't know all the facts yet? I also bet Japan and all those other Asian countries have better technology but hide them anyways, Japan probably uses game systems as a cover . This discussion kinda sounds like "Which country is the most intelligent?" though so don't forget America has a whole bunch of different people's from different countries.
