You turn your brain off when you don't question what your believing. as a lot of religious people tend to do, they simply mindlessly believe what they are told to. If your not asking "why do i believe in this" then something is wrong.

I know for a fact that the church officals are fucking idots, as 3/4 of my fam goes to it, and every time they come back from it I hear something even more retarded then the last time.

Some religious people do quesion thier beliefs, and besides you can quesion other things besides religion to show your intelligence.
Refusing to quesion your religion rarely happens. People just use faith to support thier religion.It has nothing to do with intelligence.

If they dont quesion the religion, they have no information to analyse, thus nothing to compare to to find out if they are intelligent or not. Ignorance has nothing to do with intelligence.A Christian can become a rocket scientist despite believeing God created the universe.A Christian can become a scientist despite believe God created man. The person is smart but people are stupid, would be a good way to put it. A single person can be smart, but get a group of people together and the level of intelligence drops fast, the more people the faster it drops.

And thats a non-biased opinion, if you look at my other posts, you will see that I am also non religious. The idea here is that relgious people are less intelligent on average. For you to say that all of the leaders of the church are stupid, shows how simple minded you are. Thats what the mass of people you talk to on forums tells you and you accept it, without thinking of the true reality of those people's intelligence. Keep in mind that the Church of England and its associated armies, and other similar organizations in Europe were able to take over half the world at some point. That feat requires a good amount of tactical and political strategy, something that only true geniuses could accomplish.

I don't think you understood the example. It shows constraints. If you are constrained by something, you will not investigate further. Eg. If you were told a a child to floss your teeth after brushing but never why. So you do it. Even when you're an adult and someone asks you why you floss your teeth, you still don't know. Why? Because you were told to do so by an authority figure, your parents.

Before you get so defensive and reply without understanding. read carefully and THINK. The study does not show religion makes people stupid. Its shows that those who acheive the most in the scientiic fields are not religious. Do you understand the difference. If not i cannot help you.

By the way, intelligence does not just contain memory, it is linked to understanding and linking related concepts together without external input.

Utter fatuity. Another attempt of atheist trying to justify their way of life. Religion does not in any way affect an individual's ability to reason and think. Only unintellectuals may such sweeping generalizations. Religion provides values and purpose not hamper reasoning ability. Furthermore, what's the basis upon which one can make such a comment (with adequate justification)?

I think athiest scientists are the ones who are successful coz they think science made this world and everything even humans..
they don't believe in god..they believe in science ... so they worked hard to support their theory or experiments..
and you know some scientist were born smart and didn't get their smartness from being an athiest
