I'm in one. It's been about 2 months, or so. The last time I saw her is when I asked to go from "seeing each other" to "relationship." She said yes.

It's not the easiest thing in the world. We both have lives and responsibilities. However, she matters to me very much, so I put in the time and effort it takes to see her. Being in the early stages, it's hard to know where things will go, but I'm hoping that circumstances will allow one of us to move closer to the other.

I'm in a long distance relationship for 3 years already. I broke up with her once coz of the fact that I lost hope in seeing her ever. She didn't want to accept it and still wanted to continue on with our relationship. Everyday, she texts me how much she loves me but I couldn't tell her that I still have feelings for her. I was such a terrible guy. I wouldn't call ours a LDR since we only met online through a game called TinierMe. We always video chat everyday sacrificing both our sleep. She lives in Chile and I was studying in Singapore that time so we had 8 hours apart. After my studies I moved back to London. One day, she visited me and didn't even tell me. I was surprised because her trip was supposed to be in Egypt with her best friend but she managed to save up travel money in order to see me. It was a fun week for both of us. Ever since then, I never stopped loving her. We always visit each other from time to time. Spending every second like it was our last. LDR is okay as long as both parties trust each other. Sometimes, there are issues with us specially when it comes to jealousy and having no time but we understand. Now she's moving to Holland for her studies. Before we were 7000 miles apart, now we're living together and I'm planning to propose to her soon.

Tl;dr

I guess it depends on how dedicated the people who are involved with their feelings towards each other. Sacrifices will be made and there will be a time that feelings will get hurt. LDR is hard but it's worth it for me. We started online and I can't believe that she's here with me now. I'm glad that I met her. I never felt so much love and care. :p

I might get into one if i go study abroad (we'd be 11000 miles apart~)

I think if you both want it to it'll work out~

never been in one, but i'd imagine communication/trust would be that much more vital for a successful relationship..

as often as i love to kiss, cuddle, caress, tease & just overall embrace my girl, it'd be cumbersome.. still i think we're both dedicated enough to pull through.

Trust issues get in the way, and loneliness kicks in leading to a break up.

out of sight, out of mind. I work on a ship as part time job and it's 5000km away from home. I meet people there and sometime starting developping feelings for a girl. I tried once to maintain a relationship after I left but it just didn't work out. So now I just don't start anything so she and I don't feel bad

it'll work, take it from me. ive been in a long distance rela for six years, because we have to.. yet there were so many downsides, but if you love each other then things may work. tTrust is the key. now we are already together for 3 years. we got married last year. LOVE can move mountains.
