Did Avril Lavigne ruined herself?

People change. You should expect the music to do the same.

Avril was 17 years old when she started out. She is 26 years old now. She has already been married and she has gotten a divorce.

Did you really expect her to write songs like Skater Boy forever?

I think she has driven way past those angsty teen years...

I think she's a talented songwriter still, yes her looks have changed from grunge to "preppy princess" but the lyrics are still simple but effective "Hey, hey, you, you I don't like your girlfriend. I think you need a new one" catchy. Her appearance has changed for the better imo, she looks great.

Guess she has no choice but to go wild , if not people as wild as lady gaga's gonna rule over. Doesn't seems like lyrics in a song matters much these days , everybody just want to go boogers , and as long as the song gives them that sort of feeling , it passes as a good song

I couldn't agree more. It is a new style that still displays Avril being Avril. Nevertheless, instead of bashing her as a "fake," we should just appreciate her as a songwriter/singer and for all that she has brought to the music industry.

I like her no matter what, and she has a great personality, but music-wise? ... well that's a different story

First two albums were amazing, I still listen to them
But the last two albums are like a bad joke of Avril ... I hate most of her music now, even "What The Hell" with all it's hype didn't live up to any expectations ... but opinions may differ
