Cause most women have a limited knowledge of cars, but since everyone knows what a mustang is they go with the flow and think they are awesome. Easy way to change their opinion is to simply show em something better.
Women love my car, not because its a 1968 Firebird, but because it's shiny, covered in chrome and sparkly things, makes a lot of noise, and goes fast.

Ford designed and marketed the original Ford Mustang to women drivers from the start. The original slogan for the car was, "A sports car that you can buy on a secretary's salary." All the original ad portrayed young women in the 20's and 30's leaving a busy office and running home to load up their Mustang for a fun weekend with t he girls.
The Mustang was never meant as a sports car to begin with. It evolved out of a pissing match with the Camero. However the two cars were never meant as direct competition. Until the late 80's Mustang was one of the few cars available with 4cyl, 6cyl or 8cyl.
Somewhere in the early 70's Ford forgot this. By 1979 when the FOX Mustang was released the car became a popular tuner for guys. Ford never really has returned the new Mustang to its roots aiming the car towards the female market,
