Ugh, so very very true.
I only read them for the pretty but the pretty ended and I was just like, WTF is wrong with this girl?!
Like they just take it when someone sexually assault them? WTF?! I know it's Shoujo and all but good lord.
Ryoki and Hatsumi had the WORST chemistry EVER.

Desire Climax in Malaysia only sold at Kinokuniya... but I've read the Malay version of Hot Gimmick, very good...

the author's probably couldn't think of anything original and creative~ the so~so typical plot

I don't think Desire Climax and Hot Gimmick is similar at all~ maybe a little bit for some parts~
but I like Desire Climaz characters and drawing style better~ and I like Hot Gimmick's story better~
Desire Climax has a lot of sex, and rushes love... but Hot Gimmick takes romance and love at a slower pace, which is nice.

I didn't find Hot Gimmick as offensive as Desire Climax. :/

Hot Gimmick was just annoyingly repetitive in the second half. The characters were immature, but at least they had their limits. Having the male lead in Desire Climax molest the main female on a daily basis....that was too much. How she fell in love with him, I'll never comprehend that.

Oh oh! Don\t forget the part where the girl's family is living on property controlled by rich boy's family and is basically at his whim. But seriously, yeah they are similar. I didn't see it before but isn't that basically the entire concept of these types of shoujo mangas?
Girl meets guy who she initially dislikes because he's a complete jerk.
He forces himself on her which makes her hate him more.
He starts showing vulnerability while she likes him despite him being a horrible person.
He does her, she lets him(maybe/maybe not) the first time
Family issues try to force them apart.
Everything is sorta resolved in a neat package where someone gets screwed by the ending.
The brother never wins.
