Nutrition is a big key in a healthy well-being, and as martial artist, athletes, or both.. we need to take care of ourselves, so our body will not degenerate..
Add your two cents on what supplements, or eating habits do you take to keep your body in top form, or to regenerate from a grueling training session, or in preparation for a match(es).

OH! One of my favorite subjects! Great thread idea Ninja!!
I am on a raw foods kick. I try to eat at LEAST 60% raw foods every day. Fruits vegetables nuts and seeds. I include things like young Thai coconuts for milk, flax seeds, pine nuts, etc. I am told by my bro who is an amazing martial artist and is a nutritionist, that I should throw away my vitamins I bought at GNC.. he says they are like drugs or poison. So I am goin pure and organic!
I am still losing weight to get into an even lower weight class, I expect to fight at 120# next summer so I need to lose 8-9 more pounds still. My raw diet should help!

Pine nuts come from pine cones. They are great for a natural form of HGH.(human growth hormone) keeps ya young. Flax is another great seed full of healthy oils. My day begins with a giant smoothy:
Young thai coconut milk, Flax seed, pine nuts, an avacado, 2 egg yolks, a banana, a cup of diced fruit, 2 cups of spinach or other green (kale, collard )and a stalk of celery. That carries me through to dinner which is usually a salad of a ton of greens with sesame seeds some light oriental dressing and crushed seaweeds (nori)... HEALTHY!! yar!! sometimes some fish or chicken on the salad. (fish raw, chicken cooked!)

The egg yolks are for the protein. And the celery helps your body absorb the calcium in the greens and fruits!

I agree and it is needed in your blood and helps in the nervous system to continue energy generation..but not to make it faster.. but to keep it heathy. without it... we would practically be dead.. maybe fighters need the most .. but one thing is for sure our bone regeneration.. is top notch our bone density.. i mean even our knees, and joints.. and muscle generation

like steven said.."..fighters this is important for you to make ur bones like steel"

The young coconuts are supposed to be the healthiest thing to drink you can put in your body! Its supposed to be so close to human plasma in chemistry that it was often used in IVs to save people in WW2! I think Im turning Filipino anyways Im tired of being American! We were training Filipino tonight.. Filipino kickboxing.. bowed in diferent and everything!
