The Winchester Mystery House is a well-known California mansion that was under construction continuously for 38 years, and is reported to be haunted. It once was the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of gun magnate William Wirt Winchester, but is now a tourist attraction. Under Winchester's day-to-day guidance, its "from-the-ground-up" construction proceeded around-the-clock, without interruption, from 1884 until her death on September 5, 1922, at which time work immediately ceased.

"Deeply saddened by the deaths of her daughter Annie in 1866 and her husband in 1881, and seeking solace, Winchester consulted a medium on the advice of a psychic. According to popular history, the medium, who has become known colloquially as the "Boston Medium", told Winchester that she had the feeling that there was a curse upon the Winchester family because the guns they made had taken so many lives. The psychic told Winchester that "thousands of people have died because of it and their spirits are now seeking deep vengeance."

Although this is disputed, popular belief holds that the Boston Medium told Winchester that she had to leave her home in New Haven and travel West, where she must "build a home for yourself and for the spirits who have fallen from this terrible weapon, too. You can never stop building the house. If you continue building, you will live. Stop and you will die."

There is another version of the story stating that the spiritual medium told Winchester that wherever she went, the spirits would follow to haunt her so she built an outrageously confusing house and slept in different rooms every night to confuse the ghosts pursuing her."
I got all of this from Wikipedia because I'm too lazy to type it myself.

Have you ever been to the Winchester house? My grandparents live near it. I really want to go!!

This site is full of pointless copy and paste threads.

It's an interest of mine, so it's not pointless to me. And sorry to offend you by copying and pasting, but there's no point in me typing out the exact same thing.

I doubt you will write the exact thing. and it's called open mind.
you are not writing what you exactly think.
your writing was someone else said. even the opinions. thats what is funny.

Sarah Winchester was certifiably insane. She slept in different bedrooms each night so the ghosts couldn't find her. Every night she set the table for 13: one for her and 12 for the "nice ghosts". When the earthquake struck, her servants had to search all the bedrooms for her. When they found her, she was panicked and thought there was going to be a flood, so she had a houseboat built and lived in it for a few months. (So I've heard.)

Yes, that is indeed quite funny.

Pretty ironic, since I'm watching an anime sorta similar to some of this (Ghost Hunt).
I wanna go there! I love spooky places.

:P
Isn't that one of the few 'scary' animes? Is it good, thrilling ?
