Hey guys,

As I mentioned on the front page post, it's because of your support for the Direction's titles, Yoshiura-san has graciously decided to conduct another exclusive, forum-style interview from Dec 2-5.

So please post your questions right here in this topic, and he will have an answer for all of you on another post by Dec 12!

Hope you guys enjoy Time of EVE episode 3 and the exclusive interview videos! =)

I've always been fascinated with the process for creating an anime, and I believe Time of Eve is a perfect example of productive genius, which makes me wonder quite a few things. In one of the interviews it was stated that the production staff is very small compared to general productions. How many people are you currently working with and how does that number compare to a general anime production staff?

Time of Eve is a short anime, despite its two month waiting period between episodes. Depending on the fan base in the near future, is there a possibility the anime could be extended or made regular?

This anime has really amazed me. Especially the storyline and style. The background used had the extra effort to appear more realistic with the right lighting and shading; and you can see the use of some kind of 3d software, I think. All in all, the high standards are living up to the theme the show. That's pretty rare nowadays. So why go through all that work for every episode? And how did you come to choose this look for the anime?

Shinji : I must say you have done a good job converting CrunchyRoll from a small time free site to revenue generating business. Most importantly you are helping break new ground in the way that Anime is delivered to viewers. This relationship you have forged with Studio Rikka and Directions is to be commended. Hopefully this is just the start.
Yoshiura-san : From the first time I saw Eve no Jikan I was imressed and I watched the episodes repeatedly. The way you are dealing with the blossoming of human-android relations shows a finesse that I believe Asimov would respect. The quality of the of the entire prodution is incredible.

Eve no Jikan is released as an Original Net Animation, what are the business implications, can this model be profitable? Why ONA?

Could you please talk about the similarities between "Aquatic Language 水のコトバ, ", "Pale Cocoon ペイル・コクーン", "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou ヨコハマ買い出し紀行" and "Eve no Jikan"? Of note are: ingenius computer interfaces, coffe shops, human-android relationships.

What originally inspired this animation series and the art style of it? Do you plan to expand the show in any way? And what do you have to say to those who considered it similar to Chobits?

Would you also say the success factor behind this popular series wasn’t just the story, but the attention to details in the animation as well?

Lastly, are you planning to create other series with the same or similar art style?

quick question from off of my head Image

Is having a smaller team to work on this series much of a set back in anyway, like would you have rather had the series out every week or have done a fulll movie and have a huge team like you said working the episodes in shifts ?

This Anime has driven me to make my first post on crunchy roll, I have been a member now for almost 2 years and have never made a post. So firstly I would like to thank Shinji for all his great work done on the crunchy roll website and have seen it transform in amazing ways, keep up the great work.

Is there any possibility of this ONA becoming a fully fledged series or movie in the future?
Obviously the main characters are Rikuo and Sammy, considering this is an 15 minute episode ONA, do you think you will be able to develop their relationship sufficiently in the ramaining 3 episodes?

I have to say that you guys are doing such a wonderful job. <3 Now I'll throw on some questions to please my curiosity. XD

1. Did you have any reference for your character designs? If so, what are they?
2. Was this project originally planned from the start, or out of the blue 'let's do this!' sort of project?
3. How was "Time of Eve" born? Like, where did it all begin? Was it a suggestion from a friend or the like?
4. Do you think the characters will undergo a drastic or a slight change in their personalities as the episodes go by? As of now, we're definitely seeing some changes in Rikuo, but how about Masaki?
5. Lastly, I'm particularly curious about Nagi since her background is hardly ever mentioned in the past few episodes. Will you surprise whether she's a human, android, or possibly both? :D

Again, keep up the good work. Image I'm rooting for you guys! Gambatte! XD

I'd like to say that the 'TIME OF EVE' anime was the best show i ever watched. it really interests me about the androids in the future.

so, my question is
1) How did you get this idea of making this anime?
2) When did you started this project?
3) How you manage to make this storyline so good? well, since this show has a lot of fans since the beginning of episode 1. just wanted to know how did you get the idea.
4) Lastly, is there any plan of making another project after Time Of Eve is finished?

i would like to say keep up the work. wish that there will be more projects going on. and thanking you in advance for answering my questions.
