I never said it was horrible >_> Its a good idea, I said that, I just said I don't know if we really need it now, sometimes we have huge bursts of posts and sometimes it goes for a few hours without a post. I think it boils down to how much effort it'll take to set up and what it'll cost on the site and everything. But I'm not Shinji, thats just my two cents. ^_^
Edit: Also add a "Site updates" thread. Where only you can post and each time you do some big update to the site (such as adding an IRC channel or new tab at the top like "Manga" or something) you post in in there. |

^ Why do you always( well not always) think I am taking an angry tone with you? Unless I am mistaking the post above.
Edit: Suggestion. A member section for this forum so we can post threads. Basically I suggest making this forum like most forums out there with all the basic features like signatures (as I have stated before). |

Doesn't cost anything to setup an IRC channel, just need to choose a network, create a channel and sign up to the relevant powers that be to get a bot placed into said channel. Then just a case of getting people to install the relevant irc client (mIRC, Trillian, chatzilla etc..) so they can then join in the fun.

In that case I vote for it now, as long as it doesn't kill our bandwith. I know nothing of IRC channels, sorry >_< |

wouldnt take up any bandwidth. irc:// is recognized by most browsers when an irc client is installed, and opens the client and connects to a server. you could run the server yourself, but thats not necessary. i might recommend dalnet offhand, being fairly simple with channel services and nickname services. you could even incorporate an irc client using java, but that would use more bandwidth (not so much really) than the link to another network.
as a second thought, a lesser known server might be better for nickname selection purposes. there's plenty currently running networks though. http://searchirc.com/networks |

I currently use the chatzilla add-on for Firefox on the few occasions I need to pop into an irc channel. Using a network would be the best bet that way zero bandwidth is used here and more anime can be watched instead.
A smaller network wouldn't be a bad idea, only problems I can see is that small ones are more liable to shut down and user support might not be as good when compared to one like Quakenet. |

i think vid uploading for members only would be good if shinji or someone monitors and sorts the vids we upload, then deletes the crap (hentai, bad quality vids, irrelivant shit, etc.).
i think the irc channel sounds great. i think we got enough people to have a decent one and it'd be a great way to know each other more. someone should start working on actually setting one up rather than just talking about it (i would take that initiative but i'm a noob at irc). |

Ok, I'm currently looking into setting up a #crunchyroll channel on the Quakenet server. I've chosen them as they are the biggest IRC operators out there and have good user support from what I've experienced in the past. Granted, it isn't so great as some of the more common nicknames will be taken but there are always ways to working around that.
I'm currently idling in the channel (as of 19.30pm UK time) if anyone wants to pop in and say hello. |

Where do you find the Quakenet server, exactly?

Ok in the IRC client first type disconnect to make sure your disconnected from the default server thingy. then type the following command "/server irc.quakenet.org -j #crunchyroll" and it should load up in a minute. If the crunchyroll doesn't load up then just type /server irc.quakenet.org and let it run its thing, then type /j #crunchyroll.

See you assumed I have the IRC client, which I don't.

My bad, google mIRC and download and install. When you run it a window should pop up and enter your info. Then in the window after that put in what I just put in above. |

How about listing all the videos and stuff that you have viewed.
Maybe make it the most recent 20 that you have viewed. So if people know you, and see what you watch they might be inspired to check out new s tuff. |
