Any status update about getting the Opening and Ending themes subtitled?

CR does not translate opening or ending songs due to them not having permission from the license holders of the music to do so.

Only on some very rare occasions has an opening or ending song been subbed on Crunchyroll.

You wouldn't think so, but translating a song and using it for monetary gains without the artist's permission is actually illegal in many countries.

I feel your pain however. This has been a big complaint for many CR users. Hopefully in the future it will become economically feasible for CR to also purchase the rights to translate the opening and ending songs, but right now CR is going to do what is in their best interest to make the company money so that they can continue to grow their user base and library.

Ugh! You're right. I didn't think translations would be considered a derivative work, but they are.

The Crunchyroll store really needs a filter to be able to separate DVDs and Blu-rays. Its not convenient and rather time consuming having to go through pages of DVDs to find the occasional Blu-ray on there.

A long time ago, it was nice when anime would always start with an OP song and end with an ED song. But lately, they seem to do this build up of 30sec-2min then the OP, or show the ED and there's still a bit more at the end. It gets annoying having to watch a small bit and skipping the song, having to re-buffer the episode. Must be worse for those with slower connections.

So I have two solutions:

1) either a button/setting that allows users to automatically skip all OP/ED in an episode (Best option, but more work to preset times to have the player skip automatically)

2) Have points in the buffer bar that shows when the OP/ED starts and finishes and when the Preview starts (so users can see if there is more at the end of the song or not) so users know where to click (Easier option that still requires user to skip the song manually but prevents users to guess and over/under shoot)

What do you think?

Keep in mind that most YouTube videos are user submissions. Crunchyroll probably (rightly) considers the number of views for each video to be proprietary and valuable business information.

NicoNico.com had a view counter for their anime simulcasts, but all it did was confirm how few views they got. (Some of their simulcasts had views only in the hundreds, and even the most popular showed a count of only a few thousand as I recall).

Please create a Windows 8 app. I'm tired of Flash killing my battery and I'd like to block Flash in general. I'd like the following:
-Swipe left/right to scan through the video with adjustable scan rate when swiping.
-Swipe up/down for volume control
-The same keyboard shortcuts as the site.
-Make use of hardware h.264 video decoding that come with many devices
-Ability to choose video quality
-Keep downloaded video in buffer so when scanning through the video it doesn't have to be redownloaded
-Option to show battery level
-If Windows 8 can catch some sort of special URLs then have a link from the site's video page to launch the app and play the video

Thanks!

I would like to be able to organize shows in my queue into groups. Playlists is the closest example I can think of. Like all the SHORT anime on a playlist, all highschool anime, martial arts, etc. Gotta stay organized lol
Thanks,

When we use the search engine here to look for old threads (so that we don't create duplicate threads), there is no listing as to the dates of the threads. I know sometimes when I do a search, there will be a hundred threads listed, and I don't have time to go thru all 100 threads to see which one has the latest post. So can we make it so that when we do a search, all the threads will have the last post date listed on them - also an option to order the threads in ascending or descending order (according to last post date) would be quite helpful as well.

Thx!

This has probably been heavily requested, but I would like to be able to get anime movies as well as shows via Crunchyroll.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but if possible i'd like to see the Asuna preorder figure from SAO as a deal of the day. I already preordered the Kirito one and i'd hate for him to be lonely.

The Chihayafuru thread recently got moved out of Anime proper into the anime series section. However, it is extremely difficult to find these kind of series discussion threads unless you already have a link to it--thank goodness for the General Anime Thread--or you brave the search feature.

Chihaya is nowhere near as popular as Bleach, Naruto, etc, so it seems that moving it out of Anime proper will make it difficult for new people to find and talk about this show. At least with these other shows, the links at the top of the Anime page will take you to those forums. There's no such link for Chihayfuru.

It would be helpful if the thread is moved back to the Anime forum or links for all separate series threads are put at the top of the page. Consistency is a good thing.

Every show page has a link to it's forum. Chihayfuru is no exception. If you go to the show page you will find the link on the bottom of the right side

Thanks, but obviously that's easy to miss. And in this case, I don't think it makes sense to move just Chihaya off the Anime page. It still seems inconsistent in the way it is handled.

And like I said, the thread was originally in Anime. Someone moved it and merged it with the show's forum link.

I just wanted to post feed back from my 2 week trial, and explain the reasons I chose to cancel, because I really wanted this to be something I like.

#1 reason, the selection. Now I'm sure you don't need to hear what you're missing, but it really bugged me that there was a lot of shows that you had the final seasons of but not the first seasons.

#2, the price. If you're going to have a service that's like Netflix (but with less selection, balanced by a focused category), it should be the same price per month.

#3, the store. I buy a lot of anime DVDs, and more recently, merchandise. So when I saw the store had special member prices I thought being a member might pay off. But upon closer inspection of the items I had already bought from other stores, even the member prices were much higher than the ordinary price in other stores. Not that it matters since EVERYTHING is out of stock.

But still, even with all this, on the random chance you had an anime I was looking for, my watching experience was very good. Being able to be at home watching on my Xbox, then switch over to my phone and go to Mc. Donald's. The video quality was great, the player was great, and the menu navigation was easy.

Overall, I believe that if any one of those problems were to be dealt with, the other two would not be as big a deal.
