I'm having some problem with pronouncing words correctly.

I have no idea how to pronounce words ending in "ai"
I came across a word which I recognised; Bonsai, and the ending of that sounds like when you say "I" and the other vowel is hardly noticed.
Is this the same with all words ending in "ai", like for instance "Semai"?

Likewise with words ending in "oi" like "kuroi", how do I pronounce that? By instinct I make it sound like cure-oh but I'm pretty sure that isn't right.
Is there some sort of rule I can apply to words ending in 2 vowels?

Thanks!

the japanese alphabet is split up into syllables.

Bonsai:
the "sai" is actually SA and then I
SA = sah
I = ee

Sah Ee

the Ai sound is just like the letter I ex. I am an idiot

Semai = Seh My
