Azumanga Daioh and Clannad.

For all the people who are saying Bleach doesn't make sense, I read in a Tite Kubo interview how he came up with the name Bleach. He said he was going to use 'Black' because you would usually put the words Soul Reaper and Black together, but he thought it was too straight-forward. Next he thought of using 'White' but that would be to plain, so instead of 'White' he used 'Bleach.'

Clannad

Interesting story behind that one, actually. "Clannad" translated to "family" or "clan" in Irish, and refers to the franchise's frequent theme of having a family that, while perhaps not blood-related, is close and strong. The name of the opening theme, Mag Mell, continues with the Irish theme, translating to "Plain of Happiness" in English.

Others:

ef: a tale of memories and ef: a tale of melodies. The titles make a little sense, but not much. I get the whole memory thing refering to Chihiro's memories and all that, but what's "ef" supposed to mean?? I can only guess that it refers to the name of the opening theme, Euphoric Field (fun fact: the initals of each of the anime's episode titles spells "plain of happiness" when put together.) But then that doesn't fit a tale of melodies at all..... I just don't get it.

Triangle Heart: Sweet Songs Forever. Except for the fact that one of the main characters is a world-famous singer, this makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

H20: Footprints in the Sand. It has something to do with God and man on a beach, but that has nothing to do with the actual story.

chi-chi o kuri-kuri: Chi-chi means "boobs" or "breasts" in Japanese. Kuri-kuri is a twisting noise. Chi-chi also means father.

dou: homonym for "how" and "copper". Kamon says, "How are you?" Haruko hears, "Are you made of copper?"

kuri: A homonym for a twisting noise and "chestnut." Kamon says, "Like twisting..." Haruko hears, "Like chestnuts..."

des ne: A homonym for a Japanese phrase and the English word "death." Kamon says, "Not about chestnuts for squirrels, but..." Haruko hears, "Death."
