Psalms of Planets Eureka 7. Okay, we get Eureka, but what the hell's up with the rest of it?! There are a number of things "seven" might refer to, but I'm in the dark as to what "Psalms of Planets" is supposed to mean.

Lucky Star. Makes zero sense in context to the series. It isn't even spelled like Lucky Star should be in Japanese: it's written in Hiragana as らきすた (raki suta), when it should be in Katakana as ラッキスター (rakki sutaa).

Full Metal Panic!. The creators actually said out right that they only named it that because it was English and sounded cool (and possibly a skewed reference to a movie called Full Metal Jacket).

Hana Kimi's full title, Hanazakari no Kimitachi E, which means For You In Full Blossom. Well, it sounds vaguely romantic.... And the "You" is plural for some reason (Kimitachi).

Actually....

There is no official reason to why Bleach is called Bleach although there are a few theories put forward. The First being that when Japanese people bleach their hair occasionally it doesn't go so well and goes Orange rather than Blonde. Ichigo is attacked in one manga chapter by a guy claiming Ichigo stole his hair style (In fact the guy bleached his hair, Ichigo just had his normal hair). The third being that the Shinigami "Bleach" the souls of the hollows and spirits sending them to the afterlife, cleansing them.

Bleach is called Bleach because of

1) Ichigo's Hair

2) Shinigami bleach the souls of the hollows and spirts.

3) Kaien's soul was bleached by Rukia's zanpaktou to be reborn as Ichigo.

4) Rukia's clothes were bleached from black to white when Ichigo stole her power.

5) Some theorize that Tite Kubo is a huge Nirvana fan...hence the name Bleach (I believe one of their albums was called Bleach in the past)
~ This isn't just a guess. Kubo Tite said in an interview that he is a Nirvana fan. ~

The substance bleach, however, can also be a disinfectant. The mission of Soul Reapers after all, are to purify Hollows, right? Well that was before the Soul Society arc at least. To "bleach" something is to apply bleach, sometimes as a preliminary step in the process of dyeing, and I saw this as aligning with the fact that the characters have a tendency to hide their true emotions with false outward expressions, such is the case with Ichigo and Rukia, such as how dye covers the original colors and replace them with another.

Fruits Basket, from Wikipedia:

The title of the series is taken from a children's game, Fruits Basket (フルーツバスケット, fu-ru-u-tsu-ba-su-ke-t-to?, where the 'tsu' represents the 't' in "fruit", making it plural in an incorrect way), in which the participants sit in a circle, and the leader of the game names each person after a type of fruit; when the name of a child's fruit is called, that child gets up and has to find a new seat. When the protagonist, Tohru Honda first plays this game in kindergarten, she is assigned "Onigiri" (rice ball), by her cruel classmates, but she does not mind because she thinks onigiri are delicious. Once the game is finished, and all of the children but Tohru are called, Tohru realizes that onigiri are not a type of fruit at all, and she realizes that she does not belong. Tohru comes to associate this game with the Sohma family, and that she does not fit in among them any more than an onigiri does in a basket of fruit. In volume 1 of the manga, after Yuki and Kyo bring Tohru home from her grandfather's house, she begins to feel like she belongs with the Sohma family. After this, she imagines herself as a child hearing "Onigiri" called in the game, symbolizing that she has finally found her place

Durarara, I think, is a reference to Dullahan from Irish mythology - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dullahan. Sounds about right from what I've seen of the series, and the page even references Durarara's use.
