hmm.... fruits basket - I dunno where they got it
Gravitation
Shugo Chara - dunno what does it mean or why that name..?

ok first of all...
fruits basket: they named it that because when tohru was young, in her class they played a game called fruits basket. you had to choose a name of a fruit and if u were called u were out. Tohru choose rice ball which isnt a fruit and the kids never picked her. Now that she is with yuki and kyo she feels like shes in a group and she has true friends and that shes been called into the "fruits basket"

Gravitation:Shuichi feels like yuki has a gravitational pull and shuichi cant get away from him

Shugo Chara:Shugo chara means guardian characters and thats what ran, miki, suu and those other ones are

That's a pretty good explanation. I always wondered why it was Fruits Basket but then, I haven't finished that series...

Bleach - Please don't say it's because Ichigo dyed his hair orange.

I think it's called "Bleach" cause Shinigamis purify Hollows just like how bleach whitens stains on clothes?... I don't really know I just guessed.

Psalms of Planets Eureka 7. Okay, we get Eureka, but what the hell's up with the rest of it?! There are a number of things "seven" might refer to, but I'm in the dark as to what "Psalms of Planets" is supposed to mean.

Lucky Star. Makes zero sense in context to the series. It isn't even spelled like Lucky Star should be in Japanese: it's written in Hiragana as らきすた (raki suta), when it should be in Katakana as ラッキスター (rakki sutaa).

Full Metal Panic!. The creators actually said out right that they only named it that because it was English and sounded cool (and possibly a skewed reference to a movie called Full Metal Jacket).

Hana Kimi's full title, Hanazakari no Kimitachi E, which means For You In Full Blossom. Well, it sounds vaguely romantic.... And the "You" is plural for some reason (Kimitachi).

Psalms = poem, song or story Eureka = 'I've found it' or new 7 = a perfect number, or perfection
So it literally means "The story of the planes that found perfection." Kinda makes scene if you consider the
way the scrub's communicate and how Eureka and Renton felt abot each other and how they ended up.
Planets is plural because if you remember that the planet they where on was just a giant shell around the earth.

No idea about the other ones.

Fruit Basket

Fruits Basket actually makes sense in context: fruit basket is a children's game that Tohru used to play in school as a little kid, in which each child is given the name of a fruit, and they have to get up and rush to find a seat when their fruit is called out. Tohru, though, was named a rice ball, and since that isn't really a fruit she never really got to participate, just sit and watch the other kids play. The plural is because of the way Japanese works: there isn't a "tu" sound so they used "tsu" instead when adapting the English word fruit. The english translation left it in because Fruits Basket sounds more interesting that just Fruit Basket.

Actually....

There is no official reason to why Bleach is called Bleach although there are a few theories put forward. The First being that when Japanese people bleach their hair occasionally it doesn't go so well and goes Orange rather than Blonde. Ichigo is attacked in one manga chapter by a guy claiming Ichigo stole his hair style (In fact the guy bleached his hair, Ichigo just had his normal hair). The third being that the Shinigami "Bleach" the souls of the hollows and spirits sending them to the afterlife, cleansing them.

Bleach is called Bleach because of

1) Ichigo's Hair

2) Shinigami bleach the souls of the hollows and spirts.

3) Kaien's soul was bleached by Rukia's zanpaktou to be reborn as Ichigo.

4) Rukia's clothes were bleached from black to white when Ichigo stole her power.

5) Some theorize that Tite Kubo is a huge Nirvana fan...hence the name Bleach (I believe one of their albums was called Bleach in the past)
~ This isn't just a guess. Kubo Tite said in an interview that he is a Nirvana fan. ~

The substance bleach, however, can also be a disinfectant. The mission of Soul Reapers after all, are to purify Hollows, right? Well that was before the Soul Society arc at least. To "bleach" something is to apply bleach, sometimes as a preliminary step in the process of dyeing, and I saw this as aligning with the fact that the characters have a tendency to hide their true emotions with false outward expressions, such is the case with Ichigo and Rukia, such as how dye covers the original colors and replace them with another.

On Topic: Durarara!, Full Metal Panic.

In an interview with Tite Kubo; he said that the color that you normally associate with shinigami and death is black, but that was too plain. So he though white, but the readers would know that he was trying to get the oppisite of black, so he picked another name that means 'white' and got Bleach.

On Topic:

I'm surprised no one has said D.Gray Man, though I know how it got it's name . . . .

Now that I think about, if you read/watch something for awhile the pieces eventually pull together.
