So, what do you think of critics, art stealers and tracers?

My opinion:

Critics:
They rule! Although criticism may offend certain types of people, critics are still great. In my opinion, the effectiveness of criticism depends on the personality of the person being criticized. If that person is negative, arrogant, self-centered and a total know-it-all, he/she will most probably detest and feel offended. But if that person is open-minded and positive, he/she will probably take the criticism as a guide and learn from it.

Drawing tracers:
It can be ok, it can be not. Tracing can be used to practice your skill in drawing and make it better. But if you trace and show it to others, telling them that you drew it, you're no better than an art stealer.

Art stealer:
Stealing a person's hard work and telling people you drew it. That sucks, man. I DESPISE them. taking credit for the hard work another person did. I had the experience, i know.

[PS, can you tell the difference in tracing and drawing?? if you do, post it in your reply!]

Critics: I often give critism a lot myself. Criticism is good. Even though it feels great to have someone praise your works, it's better to have someone give you advice so you can improve. People who get offended at criticism irritate me. They thing its a personal vendetta or something and although it may be blunt criticism, it still is advice.

Drawing Tracers: Yeah I agree with you here. It's all good if they wanna' get better but if they do show it to others/upload it, they should have the decency to say it's been traced. But, even if they do not say it, someone will catch them out.

Art Stealer: These guy just suck on a whole different level.

Aren't drawings more expressive? Like more mistakes are evident whereas in tracings its all perfect >.< I dunno..

A critic is only bad when he can't critique himself.
Tracers are only bad when they claim the work is theirs when they took the idea from someone.
Art Stealers, you obviously know the answer here.

The difference between drawing and tracing is that for tracing your basing what your going to draw off of someone else's drawing or work, and it ends up very similar to the original piece of work. Mainly used to improve your own style. Where as drawing is when you take it completely or partially from an object in real life, or from your imagination.

i just don't like those who traces drawing and take credit for them. the people who originally made those drawings worked their butt off the drawings [& other types of art form] and they should be the one to take credit.

critics: personally i don't like being criticized but i can understand the purpose
tracers: well when some one runs out of ideas i say it's fine to trace however have the courtesy to add some details and personalize it example today in art class i set out to draw this instead of me just blatantly copying i turned it in to my own work
and as for stealers: bunch of talentless idiots

Critics: They're okay if they can express what they think without being rude. Opinions might hurt the artist/author, but I don't think it's okay if you're criticizing with the purpose of being hurtful and rude.

Drawing tracers: I think it's an acceptable way to start learning, as long as one doesn't claim those traces as original.

Art stealers: YOU GUYS SUCK!!
