I just dont know... I mean from a logical standpoint and best point for the season to end it would be with volume 5 of the original work. Which starts right after episode 10. Which I guess can fill up those last 3 episodes left (Hard to say exactly because baka hasnt translated much of volume 5 yet)

But the events after that are very important! Things change drastically that even I was suprised when I read the first 2 chapters of volume 6. It just begs for a second season. Especially with 9 volumes out already, but it seems light novel series that are popular have a good change for second seasons. I guess wish they wouldnt break up the seasons up and not tell us right than that there will be another.

Oh I dont think of this as spoiling because I didnt mention anything specific, if you find it in anyway a spoiler than you must honestly never watched an series in your whole life to not believe that some big events would happen in the last few episodes of a series

Thirteen seems like a good number to end on. They don't want to get too ahead of the novels or else they'd be forced to make stuff up to fill in the empty time (i.e. fillers). The popularity of this series is still going strong so rest assured, it's going to be brought back for a second season. On that note, whoever is directing the show would most likely avoid any major turning points unless he wants to end the season an a cliffhanger. I'm not sure what you're talking about, sky, but if it's a significant event, one of two things can happen.

1) It is put in the final episode to set the tone for the second season.

2) It is put in the first episode of season two, introducing the conflict that will move the story forward.

On that note, looking at the way this anime is shaping it seems they would definantly leave episode 13 on a major cliff hanger. One that will make one want to watch Higurashi, than take that poisonous medicine that makes one claw their own neck out...

I can foresee cliff hanger and I will HATE it.

Hey, now. Don't be so quick to pass judgement! Exactly how are things 'shaping' that would make you think that it's going to end on such a bad note? Try looking at things from a writer's perspective! Even cliffhangers can bring closure to a series if it's done the right way. For example:

By the end of season, Ryuuji realizes that he loves Taiga but it's too late! Taiga is already going out with Kitamura! Knowing this, Ryuuji resolves that he will continue to support Taiga in any way he can in the hopes of one day confessing his feelings to her. Thus, the conflict for the next season is set up!

Yeah, it may just be a theory but tell me the truth--would you be disappointed if that was the actual ending to Season 1?

Actually based on the way this is going, I would assume the way this cliff hanger would be is. That Ryuuji would be asking Minorin out, than a few moments later Taiga would scream her confession to Ryuuji and.. BOOM, end of the season.

That doesn't sound too bad. At least Taiga realized her true feelings for Ryuuji. I don't know about you, but that's a good ending in my book. And you know there's going to be a Season 2 so just think of it as a really long wait between episodes.

That is your opinion than. I'd think a cliff hanger like that would kill me in suspense to see a reaction to that. Ryuuji would be all :O and Minorin would be like :O and Taiga would be like v,v.

Yeah I thought of that too but I just hate it when animes end only 12 episodes and leave a cliffhanger, its aggravating.

I don't see why you guys are getting so worked up about this. It's not like the show is ending--it's just taking a short break. Yeah, there might be a slight possiblity...no, a 95% chance that the season's going to end without resolving many of the main issues but that only means it will be left open to continuation. The novels are still in serialization, after all, and it would be inappropriate to just go off on an artificial storyline. You're just going to have to have some patience. Don't freak out over a few unanswered questions. You'll just be causing yourself unnecessary stress.

I think the main cause of worry is whether or not there's going to be a second season. I, for one, have already convinced myself that there will be one, given the popularity of this series. It'll only be a matter of time--I give it six months. In the meantime, I'll just keep myself busy with whatever new thing comes up next.

Six months is a long time, it usually takes about two months for a second season to get started. Usually, but this is based off a novel so you may be right. I agree though, i'd hate to see the anime stray off to a artificial plot.

Also, i'm not worried or anything. I just hate it when they give a cliff hanger and make people wait for so long for it to be somewhat solved. I mean this anime seems predictable as of now but, I as I stated before, Ichigo 100%, I sworn I knew what was going to happen and than.. I was slapped in the face with the author and i'm all like 'Wha?!'.

to be honest, the thought of Toradora ending at episode 13 just hit me right now.... But I guess Toradora ending at that point would really be a great disappointment. I guess there would be another season for this I mean it's too early for an anime this good to hit the curtains.

You could make more twists and turns in this anime specially when there are 3 main characters aside from Ryuuji and Taiga. MEN!!! I'm so gonna be depressed when there will be no second season for this. At least 24-26 episodes would satisfy me...depending on the turns of events.

well now that they hinted in episode 10 that minori might start to like ryuuji, and ami is getting depressed because ryuuji doesnt react to her passes like she wants him to, and then theres taiga, i think that if there was a cliffhanger at episode 13, it would have to be ryuuji asking out minori, and making you wait till next season for the answer, or at the very end of the 13th episode taiga will realise her feelings for ryuuji are stonger than she leads everyone to believe, or we finally find out who kitamura really likes, and it devastates taiga, and ryuuji comforts her , or because he is trying to date minori she doesn't let ryuuji see her that way, instead she becomes an even more of a bitch to ryuuji, either way if it is going to have another season ,then most definatly there will be a cliffhanger
