i can't read with music or anything else on. i have to have a quiet place to read. that goes for reading in general as well!
but when i'm drawing, i definitely listen to music. mostly alternative/rock, upbeat music.

dunno if u can call this 'listening' ~ but most of the time i have music on although whenever i get really into something (like reading manga) i tune out the music

Late at night: heavy metal, techno, hard rock, and new wave keeps me going
During the day: milder versions of above, classy, and easy listening are refreshing
