Wasting tax dollars is what they r doing. 20 years 4 porn!!!!! If that is the case then every man in the court room need to do 40 years the extra 20 is for wasting money and acting the fool. I really don't care where is the USA this is happening it is still the USA. Unless he showed them to some kid or somthing they need to sit there asses down and go watch the porn they have waiting at home.

Considering the number of people that get less than this for violent crimes, this is simply ridiculous.

[Edited to correct typo].

This is a joke right? You can't be sent to prison for ordering manga. Ok, it's hentai, but surely porn isn't illegal in America. I know it's not a nice business but let's face it, at the end of the day it's just a book. This has got to be a joke.

wow, i thought owning a manga like that is something common for boys though. ._.
its actually better that owning a real porn.

so its like 20 years in jail, is kinda weird.
haha i don't know if i should pity him but its just weird... lets compare it with real porn. if thats the case, why other people havent get caught of having a real porn magazine or something -___- its more of like unfair

I'll wager it was some lolicon material, which in turn was treated like possession of kiddie porn, which in turn is treated the same as someone that has actually molested or abused a child. That would explain the lengthy prison sentence at least. That said, as the current state of the law stands, the Supreme Court doesn't consider drawings as kiddie porn, so they could not charge him with that, and did an end run around it by charging him with possession of obscene material and hitting him with the maximum (and apparently excessive) sentence for such an offense.

If it wasn't lolicon material, and it was simply material considered "obscene" by the local community standards, this certainly isn't a laughing matter.
