It's strange that the new episode titles are announced on the official "merchandise" site, but not on the official "anime" site.

You know there's a lot of fillers when she gets a focus episode. She's probably not even gonna leave.

I'm slowly starting to understand. I dont mind waiting for episode 64 as I have been feeling very grateful that someone out there has been subbing all these episodes for us. When will the episodes be taken down? ANyone know? My other question is do we have to pay to watch the episodes in the future? So is CrunchyRoll waiting for another subber to come? I'm so confused still. Please someone answer my concerns so I understand. Thanks and appreciate anyone who takes the time to do so. So we can have one less confused indivdual around here.

So episode 64 will not be subbed here? When you say we have to possibly wait for it to be licensed....do you mean for it to physically come out on dvd in the us? That could be forever until that happens. SO CONFUSED

Up until now, Shugo Chara has been made available to the masses with English subs, by "Fansub" groups that have donated their time to sub for "free." Unfortunately, these episodes (1-63) that you and I have enjoyed are all unauthorized by the creators, so they have seen no financial benefit from the popularity of this series especially here on CR.

The licensing deal between CR and TV Tokyo is a done deal. Because Shugo Chara is near the official start date (January 8th) where the Anime Membership program begins, "Fansub" groups do not want to either 1.) get sued for distributing a licensed Anime or 2.) waste their time and energy subbing a series when it is already done by someone else. Episode 64 has been left in limbo. I doubt a "Fansub" group will do this episode, so we will have to wait for the professional subs. When? Unknown.

For Shugo Chara, I believe TV Tokyo has it's own staff of subbers, so there's no wait to find anyone. In the future, CR may explore providing sub services to Anime companies as the demand grows.

I am unsure about the timing of the removal of old episodes. Episodes 1-63 will be removed for sure. When? I am not sure, but good chance right away (January 8th) to please their new business partner TV Tokyo. They are suppose to be replaced with professional subs. When? Not sure. CR has said that they could do releases weekly or maybe all at once. We will have to wait and see.

In the past, most licensed Anime would be distributed via DVD. The deal with CR is special because you can watch streaming HQ video (for a fee) and download (for a fee) "officially" authorized series all from the internet. Some countries might be left out in the cold, but the U.S. is fine. You can also see subbed episodes 1 hour after it is first aired on Japanese TV, so you will be the first on your block to see your favorite Anime.This has never been done. Fansubs take 1-2 days if they are quick, but they don't guarantee releases, so if they go away on vacation or have school work to do you could wait 1+ weeks to see an episode or they could quit a project without finishing.

If you don't want to pay for the Anime Membership and you are willing to wait one week after the official release, you will be able to watch Shugo Chara here on CR for "free." The drawbacks are that there will be spoilers all over the forum, ads, and the video quality will be a lower quality, but again it is free.

If I have confused you even more, I am sorry. These are all major changes and some are being done on the fly, so even CR isn't sure or doesn't want to tell until on or after the infamous January 8th date.
