Lil Wayne Formally Charged in Drug and Weapons Case

Just three days after Lil Wayne was arrested, upon being stopped at a Border Patrol Checkpoint in southwest Arizona, the rapper has been formally charged with felony drug and weapon charges in a Arizona courtroom today (Jan. 25).
According to the Associated Press, Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) was charged with one count each of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons as well as one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
A preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 12 with Lil Wayne free on bail, after a judge lifted a bail restriction allowing Wayne to leave the state.
“He is very concerned about the charges,” says Wayne’s attorney, James Tilson. “He absolutely will be present at his next court date."
Expected to appear at his sold out show at the Landmark Theater in Richmond, VA tonight, Cortez Bryant (Lil Wayne's manager) told Virginia's Richmond Times-Dispatch that the rapper will "definitely" be performing.

*********** UPDATE*******************
Lil Wayne Speaks Since Arrest
Lil Wayne spoke for the first time since being arrested in Arizona. But the topic of choice wasn’t his brief jail stint (“I’ve got nothing to say about that”), Weezy F Baby would rather deliver news about his upcoming album.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Lil Wayne sprinkled more news about his upcoming album to keep his starving fans hopes up that The Carter III will be dropping soon.

The album’s lead single will be the Deezle-produced “Lollipop” and will be hitting the radio shortly. The video was reportedly shot in Vegas and hopefully means that the album’s March/April release date will come to fruition.

"It's one of those albums people are really waiting on, so I made it so that whatever is on it will stick with you forever," he told Billboard. "I'm taking my time with it. And I'm giving artists I respect and people I want to do songs with -- not songs the label fixed -- an opportunity to collaborate."

Word is that Wayne is going to be getting some production help from Cool & Dre as well as the Alchemist on this outing. He is also sticking to his guns that this album is going to be one of his best releases.

"I think this album is going to be one of my best albums," he said. "I'm a true perfectionist. I might have to work out a deal with Universal to shoot a video to for all these songs, that's how crazy they all are. Every one of them is a movie."
In the meanwhile, Weezy awaits his Feb 12th hearing for his arrest in Arizona.

Gnarls Barkley Returns

After the success of Gnarls Barkley’s first go-‘round St. Elsewhere, the duo is nearly complete with their second offering. Although a title and a release date have yet to surface, one song has been confirmed. The cut is a psychedelic soul tune first played for Billboard last summer and marked by the Cee-Lo lyric, “Who’s gonna save my soul now?”
“Music is a natural mystic,” Cee-Lo said to Billboard. “This is not something that we contrived. It’s truly something that we just can’t explain, you know what I mean? So, why try to explain it at all? It just is.”
Meanwhile, producer, Danger Mouse, has his hands tied up with numerous projects. In addition to producing the new Black Keys album, Attack & Release, he contributed songwriting and production to Martina Topley-Bird’s The Blue God.
The release will be another joint venture between Downtown Records and Atlantic Records.

Jay-Z's Blueprint 3: Fact Or Fiction?

A previously unheard Jay-Z track has been circulating the net this week, but Hov insists that the song is an older recording, not something intended for an upcoming album.

The track, “Ain’t I,” (Click Here to listen{BEWARE DJ CLUE} http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/audio/id.4158/title.jay-z-aint-i) features a Timbaland instrumental and DJ Clue voiceovers that claim that the song is included on an upcoming Jay-Z album, Blueprint 3. If true, the disc would the third (fourth, if including Blueprint 2.1, the shortened version of the two-disc Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse) installment in Jay-Z’s Blueprint series. Lyrics like, "I took a pay cut to become a exec/ So the next mother----er can earn his paycheck/ And even though these n---as talk greasy 'bout me/ Ask these n---as how they gonna eat without me!" seem to be blatantly alluding to his recently-ended tenure as president at Def Jam Records.

A previously-published Entertainment Weekly report states that the track was initially recorded for Timbaland’s 2007 album Shock Value, but that Jay and engineer Gimel “Young Guru” Keaton couldn’t finish their parts of the song before deadline. “Jay-Z, that's my brother,” Timbaland was quoted in the article. “He disappointed (me).”

While the EW story says that Jay released a “No comment” through his publicist, a new report at MTV simply says that Jay’s representative confirms that the song was an older recording, and that he hasn’t made any announcements for a new album. The MTV report doesn’t, however, have any denial from the rep that Jay would or wouldn’t use the song in the future.

Flavor Flav Options For Third Season of Flavor Of Love

Since appearing on Vh1's season of The Surreal Life almost four years ago, Public Enemy rapper and hype-man Flavor Flav has become a media darling like it was 1989 all over again. After catch-phrases and antics led to countless proverbial water-cooler discussions, the now 48 year-old was given his own show, Flavor of Love - after the short-lived Strange Love, documentary of his and actress Brigitte Nielsen's love affair.

Based off of Flavor's pursuit of a partner, the Bachelor-like show featured various would-be celebrities such as Hoopz and New York (who would get her own show to boot). After a botched relationship with Hoopz in season one, an expanded, but equally fruitless relationship with Deelishis in season two, the antics are confirmed for a third season. The show will feature another 20 contestants, as well as a rumored season finale in Paris. The new season begins on February 11 at 9 p.m. est.

Talib Kweli Confirms Reflection Eternal Reunion Album

Although "Hot Thing" might not have stirred the masses to the tune of previous hits like "Get By" or "Move Something," 2007 saw Talib Kweli with his highest charting debut of his career with Eardrum. Nearly five months after the album's release, Kweli told HipHopDX that he's still working the effort, having recently shot a video for his next single, the Just Blaze-produced "Hostile Gospel," in Nigeria. Of the project, Kweli said, "There were some really great things we learned about this project, and some not-so-great things. Overall, I'm optimistic. This was kind of our proving-ground as a company."

Talib also confirmed his release schedule for the upcoming year, with his Warner Brothers-distributed Blacksmith imprint. "We've got Jean Grae's Jeanius coming, which is not a mixtape, it's album," said the Brooklyn emcee of his next project. Jean, like Crooked I and Tonedeff, also has plans for a Valentine's Day-themed mixtape releasing in two weeks. "We're finishing up that, then I'm really exciting to release this project by Strong Arm Steady." The second project from trio Krondon, Phil Da Agony and Mitchy Slick will mark Blacksmith's first west coast release, as well as the major label debut for the first two artists of the group.
Lastly, Talib Kweli confirmed that he's closing out the year with a reunion with Hi-Tek. "People asked for it, so we got back together, and we're working on that." Albeit sparse on details, Kweli promised the project to be released before the close of 2008, and revealed that recording was underway.

Fifty kicks Paris off stage, no weed in Amsterdam, Jame Foxx succumbs to reality tv and Bill Cosby rapping?

Funny who gets the red carpet rolled out for them when their last album wasn’t really all that, but I suppose when you got LA Reid backing you you good. Janet Jackson’s listening party next week is being hosted by the man himself in the heart of downtown Manhattan next week. I can’t lie though if there was two chicks who I would put money on to have had serious work done..it would be her and this UFO below (F for fucking as opposed to flying in this situation

Seriously what is she up to? No wonder she got dropped from Atlantic, this is not marketable...she would be better putting her head in that big yellow bag until she gets it together

Word on the street is Juelz Santana is not too keen on going over to Holland to do some shows for fear of his weedman not getting into the country (same shit happened with Australia too) but seriously does this dude not know his geography? One word Juelz...AMSTERDAM

Looks like we got another actor wanting to be a rapper..Bill Crosby is dropping an album called State of Emergency ..SERIOUSLY and I heard B to the C is looking for beats and we all know ole Huxtable got dough for days..so producers you need to be hunting down that A&R quick. But I gotta say this is when age really should be an issue

Heard 50 Cent kicked Paris Hilton off stage in Phoenix last night after she joined him as he performed at a pre-superbowl party…the hotel heiress got a shout out and thought that gave her the right to jump up on stage…but no..Fif had her dismissed immediately…two words for this DUMB BLONDE

And another wack ass reality show heading to our TVs courtesy of MTV…From G’s to Gents…hosted by Jamie Foxx, should be good for a laugh I am sure. But seriously what are the good folks at MTV going to come up with next? Just when you think it can’t get any worse it does..perhaps keeping it in the same vein it will be ‘From Hookers to Lookers’ yeah the wackness rubs off eventually.

dead prez Concert Goes Wild In Washington

A Valentine's Day performance by dead prez last night in Olympia, Washington last night turned terribly wrong went a brawl broke out in the crowd. As a result, officers invaded the concert and made arrests. Stic.man and M1 reportedly changed the performance song to "Fuck The Police," spawning major crowd support.

In the resulting melee, a police was overturned, a police laptop was stolen, and other Olympia Police Department possessions were taken. Reportedly, rocks were also thrown by crowd members at the officers.

No additional arrests were made. dead prez has yet to release a statement on the matter.
**********UPDATE****************
Conflicting Reports On dead prez Incident
It was only a matter of time before the main stream media began to point the finger at Hip Hop artists for any incident that could remotely be tied to the culture.

This past Valentine’s Day, the media reported that a mini riot broke out at Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington during a dead prez concert.

It was reported that dead prez began to chant “fuck the police,” after a concert attendee was arrested. In the aftermath, one police car was destroyed, and Evergreen State College, dead prez and Hip Hop were thrust back into the national spotlight.
A quick Google search on the incident turns up the following sensationalized headlines: “Evergreen Students Riot Over Dead Prez”, “Riot Erupts on Evergreen College Campus”, and “Fools at Evergreen Go (Extra) Dumb at Dead Prez Show.”
Here’s what wasn’t reported.

An eyewitness account has been posted on Davey D’s MySpace blog, which offers an alternative to what the main stream (and many Hip Hop sites) have been reporting.

"During prez's set, Olympia Police came in to the venue and arrested a black male, who was being accused by a white male of punching him and his friend during a fight outside the venue approx. 30 minutes earlier. I didn't see the fight, I just heard about it. I was told by another student that the white male started it.
Except for this incident, the actual show was completely peaceful!... The local media, specifically [FOX affiliate] KCPQ-13, and [Cox Television affiliate ] KIRO-7 has been claiming on television that Prez told the crowd, in essence, to attack the police. THIS IS A LIE and A MAJOR DISTORTION!... KIRO-TV in particular couldn't even get the group's name correct, let alone give complete and accurate details of what really happened."

The report also conflicts earlier accounts that it was dead prez who encouraged the crowd to attack the police.
M1 of Prez specifically told the crowd, who were already shouting "cops are in the building" and "[fuck] the police" on their own, to "make sure the brotha was safe" and to "handle the situation responsibly". They then went back to doing their set.
What has largely been ignored is the already strained relationship between students at Evergreen and local police.
Last year, Evergreen students organized a protest against the Iraq war and to block a shipment of weapons from getting to the Port of Olympia. Protesters were subsequently arrested and pepper sprayed.

A press conference concerning the incident is scheduled to take place Tuesday.

Nas Targets April For New Album

After stirring up more controversy during the 50th annual Grammy Awards, it appears Nas and Def Jam may be closer to an actual release date for his Nigger album.

"[It's coming out] April 22," says Nas. "I'm over Black History Month. I think we are part of American History and we should have it all year 'round."
Rumors have been spreading about the album since Nas announced the title during a concert in October of 2007. Proposed release dates have included December 2007, and also February 2008. A single entitled, "What It Is" was leaked, but Nas later stated that the song would not be included on the album.

While the reaction to the album's title has been mixed, Nas remained optimistic, despite all of the delays.
"The timing couldn't be more perfect," Nas tells The Poetess of Sirius Satellite Radio's The Foxxhole [http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/audio/id.4293]. "Nobody's going to tell the truth about race relations if they're not offended or angered. Everybody's just hiding behind the veil of half-truths...They think that if you don't talk about it it'll go away."

As previously mentioned, Salaam Remi, has delivered tracks as well as Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Diddy and Stargate.

Tony Yayo has charges dropped, Mother Demands Apology
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2008

This year looks to be shaping up for G-Unit hypeman Tony Yayo.

Scott Leemon, Yayo's lawyer, announced yesterday Feb. 14, that all criminal charges against the 'So Seductive' hit maker have been dropped .

Yayo's who's real name is Marvin Bernard was accused of assaulting Jimmy Rosemond's 14 year old son on a Manhattan street outside of Czar Entertainment on March 22nd , 2007 .

Though all charges have been dropped he will be required to do 10 days of community service.

Yayo confesses he was at the scene of the altercation and even tried pulling the assaulter off of the teenage boy.

Tony's attorney, Scott Leemon has said he believed his client was innocent from the dawn of this trial stating “As I told you from the beginning, Tony Yayo did not hit anyone and would never do anything to harm a child."

"This fact was confirmed by Mr. Fletcher when he told members of the notorious Hip Hop Police in August that he did this on his own. The Hip Hop Police buried this helpful information, and the charges against Tony Yayo proceeded until today." Leemon continued.

Not everyone was happy with the outcome of the case as the teenage boys mother, has demanded an apology after the court proceedings yesterday.

"A public apology is appropriate at this time, not only from Tony Yayo but from 50 Cent for denying this event ever happened--- as if my son was lying when all along they knew this assault had taken place" said the mother. "As much as Marvin Bernard tried to wiggle his way out of his role in assaulting my son, who is a minor, he had to accept responsibility to accept a plea deal."

SO MUCH NEWS I MAY POST IT LATER!!!!!
Lil Wayne Speaks On Addiction, R&B Album & More

Lil Wayne has become one of the most prominent figures in Hip Hop with his undeniable grind and persistence. This has enabled him to garner acclaim from the streets and from critics, resulting in major attention. But, he's also gotten this attention because he is a complicated figure, with alleged addictions and rumors of girlfriends here and there. In a recent interview with Blender, Wayne spoke on all of this and more.

First, he let people in on a dependency issue he has with promethazine codeine cough syrup. "If I go off it," he admitted to the magazine, "I go into withdrawal."

Later in the interview, Wayne spoke on aspirations.
“Fuck it, I’m not even a rapper. I’m past that...I’m an R&B singer now. Call me T-Wayne,” he said, after previewing a new song in which he sings with a vocoder. “I have an album coming out called Luv Sawngz. It’s me being more creative, more talented, more than hip-hop."

He even spoke up on the infamous photograph of him and Baby kissing.
“Every nigga talking shit about me? All of they bitches would love to kiss me right now.”

Although many chose not to speak on these matters, Wayne also discussed his violent tendencies.
“My mama’s a gangsta...She told me every day, ‘Nigga play with you, you kill him.’ I believed her, and I do everything she say.” He told the journalist he was being interviewed by, while pointing at his tattooed tear drops. "You see these four? Lord, forgive me. But guess what, you play with me, I’ll knock your head open and piss on your motherfucking eyes.”

Lil Wayne Explains His Addiction
After it was revealed that the now infamous “syrup” (promethazine and codeine mixed with soda or juice) may have played a part in Pimp C’s death, Lil Wayne is speaking out on his love affair with the potentially lethal drink.

In recent months, Weezy F. Baby has been seen with a styrofoam cup—on stage and in videos—leading many to wonder about the contents inside. In a recent interview with MTV, Wayne alluded to having a syrup addiction.

“Everybody wants me to stop all this and all that. It ain't that easy." He went on to add that trying to kick the habit feels like “death.”

"It ain't that easy — feels like death in your stomach when you stop doing that shit. You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox. You gotta do all kinds of stuff. Like I said, I'm a selfish-ass n---a. I feel like everything I do is successful and productive. It's gonna be hard to tell me I'm slipping. It's hard to sit and tell a nigga 'Stop.' 'Fuck, how can we tell this nigga to stop when every fucking thing he do is successful? This nigga is making progress. He just went and talked to kids and that shit was amazing.' Feel me? So what am I doing wrong?"

After his arrest in Arizona on drugs and weapons, members of his entourage and even his mother have been urging Wayne to curb—or eliminate—his use of syrup. However, the calls may be falling on deaf ears and may actually be pushing Weezy F. to further consume the substance.

"It's inspiring me, but I'mma tell them now they better stop," he said in the interview. "'Cause they [are trying to] push me off the edge. If I jump, I'm taking the world with me. That's my word."

Promethazine with codeine is typically proscribed to alleviate symptoms of a cold, allergies or respiratory tract infections.

Obama Supporters Fear For His Life

Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, Malcolm X, Robert F. Kennedy. Despite some obvious differences with these four men, they all have one thing in common: they were assassinated.
With this year’s presidential campaigns in full swing, people fear that Barack Obama—now the likely Democratic nominee—could be next.

The New York Times recently ran an article highlighting some Americans’ concerns for Obama’s safety. "In Colorado, two sisters say they pray daily for his safety,” the article reads. “In New Mexico, a daughter says she persuaded her mother to still vote for Mr. Obama, even though the mother feared that winning would put him in danger. And at a rally here [in Dallas], a woman expressed worries that a message of hope and change, in addition to his race, made him more vulnerable to violence.”
While it’s true that the country—and the world—have lost many agents of change by way of assassins, Obama doesn’t seem to be worried.

"I've got the best protection in the world," Obama says in the article. “So stop worrying.”
However, people haven’t stopped worrying. In addition to supporters’ concerns, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D, Miss.) reportedly wrote the Secret Service in January about the current candidates’ safety.

"The national and international profile of Senator Barack Obama gives rise to unique challenges that merit special concern," Thompson wrote in the letter, according to the Times. "As an African-American who was witness to some of this nation's most shameful days during the civil rights movement, I know personally that the hatred of some of our fellow citizens can lead to heinous acts of violence. We need only to look to the assassinations of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and 1968 presidential candidate Robert Kennedy as examples."

If Obama is concerned about his safety, he’s not letting it show on the campaign trail.

"It's not something that I'm spending time thinking about day to day," he said. "I made a decision to get into this race. I think anybody who decides to run for president recognizes that there are some risks involved, just like there are risks in anything."
A look at history reveals that despite high profile killings of King and Kennedy—both of whom Obama has been compared to—politicians, and presidents in general have been the target of assassination attempts.

Former Presidents Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley and the aforementioned Kennedy were all killed on the job. In addition, attempts were made on the lives’ of Andrew Jackson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Gerald Ford—whose security thwarted two attempts in three weeks—and Ronald Regan.

In spite of fears that the country will regress to the days Martin Luther King and JFK should Obama win the nomination—and subsequently the White House—support for the Illinois senator is growing. The sizes of his campaign rallies have grown, and his security team nearly rivals that of a sitting president.

Kool Herc - not the legendary DJ but a man with the same name - and a Brooklyn based organization known as Da Black Defense League have filed a $5 billion lawsuit against Jay-Z, real estate developer Bruce Ratner and Barclay's British Bank, all in connection with the Atlantic Yards project.

In the filed claim, Herc said that Mr. Ratner and Jay-Z worked "in concert" with Barclays, and "profited from the African Slave Trade and continue to profit from these gains, through a conspiracy dating back hundreds of years and continue to date to oppress Black people, enslave them, unlawfully deport them to all corners of the Earth."

The Atlantic Yards project, a $4 billion investment, would include a basketball arena for the Nets, more than 6,000 apartments, middle-income housing, commercial offices, retail establishments, and a boutique hotel - all located within downtown Brooklyn.
Bruce Ratner, president and CEO of the New York division of Forest City Enterprises and currently the real estate developer for the project, has been accused of having links with the slave trade through Barclay's Bank. Ratner, who also co-owns the the New Jersey Nets with Jay-Z, a huge supporter and endorser of the project, plans to bring the Nets to Brooklyn upon the construction of the Arena.

The Barclays Center, which would be the new home for the NBA team New Jersey Nets, was named after Barclays Bank, who purchased the naming rights to the arena for a price of nearly $400 million over a 20 year span.
Herc and members of Da Black Defense League, filed the "claim of lien" in October. Barclay's Bank denies the accusations that have been made along with Forest City Ratner, who dismissed the claim as not having any legal merit.
A representative from Da Black Defense League is proceeding to file a lawsuit in court today and has called for a boycott of the New Jersey Nets.

Herc and Da Black Defense League are not the only opponents in the development of the Atlantic Yards Project. New York City Council member Letitia James and many organizations such as Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn, the Washington D.C. based National Trust for Historic Preservation and Democracy for New York City (DFNYC) have all expressed their opposition to the project.
A spokesman for Forest City Ratner has declined to make any comments.

Ne-Yo Arrested for Reckless Driving

Ne-Yo has become a star from his way with words, but he couldn’t sweet talk his way through traffic violations earlier this week.
According to a report published at TMZ, he was pulled over in his 2006 Range Rover in Cobb County, Ga. after driving over 100 miles per hour.

He was then, according to the report, arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid driver’s license.
Further information regarding the arrest, court appointments and other details weren’t immediately available.
This isn’t the first time the R&B star/songwriter has been in the news over the past few months. In November, he was publicly ousted from R. Kelly’s Double Up tour [click HERE]. In light of the incident, Ne-Yo’s publicist quipped, “Entertainment reporters, music critics, bloggers, fans, and concert goers all agreed that Ne-Yo's performances brought the heat; but maybe it brought too much heat."

According to an MTV report, Ne-Yo has recently fielded songwriting requests from the likes of Usher, John Legend, Ciara, LeToya Luckett and Janet Jackson. His pen has previously been behind hits for Beyonce (“Irreplaceable”), Mario (“Let Me Love You”), Rihanna (“Unfaithful”) and others.

Tank Gets Brutalized By Police

Grammy nominated R&B singer Tank says he was the victim of police brutality last Sunday at the conclusion of NBA All Star Weekend in New Orleans.

The incident took place early Sunday morning around 1:30 am. The singer and one of his business partners left the House of Blues in New Orleans in search of their driver. According to a statement release, the pair asked a nearby security officer for directions to their destination and set out on foot.

As Tank rounded the final corner and spotted his vehicle, he was stopped by a New Orleans Police Officer and instructed to turn around.

During the exchange, Tank attempted to negotiate another path to the vehicle and also assured the officer (who was black) that he was not a threat, the officer told said he didn’t owe the singer “any explanations.”
Tank was later approached by three white officers approached and began asking questions. After asking for further explanation, the officers slammed Tank up against a nearby wall, bending one arm behind his back, which trapped the singer’s other arm between his body and the wall.

The officers asked Tank to release the pinned arm, which he could not do.
Apparently fed up at what the officers may have perceived as insubordination (for not releasing his pinned arm), Tank was shot at close range with a taser and forced to the ground.
During the incident, one of the officers told the singer “never mess with the law in New Orleans,” according to a statement released.

“The most frustrating part of the entire incident is knowing that I did not do anything to pose a threat but was treated like a criminal,” he said in the wake of the incident. “With a clean-cut image and a lady by my side, the law took matters into their own hands and chose to endanger my safety and those accompanying me. It’s 2008 and New Orleans is still very much in trouble beyond the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I’m a living witness.”
Tank has engaged the services of the Law Office of Bernard L. Charbonnet, Jr. “My firm intends to vigorously protect his interest as we do for all of our clients,” Charbonnet says.
The incident is still under investigation.

Andre 3000 Preps Clothing Line And Solo Album

Fans of Outkast may see more of Andre "3000" Benjamin if he follows through with his plans to release a solo album and new fashion line this fall. While doing promotional work for Semi-Pro, a sports-themed comedy that finds Andre teaming up with funnyman Will Ferrell, the rapper/actor discussed his Benjamin Bixby line and his as-yet untitled solo album with New York Magazine [available HERE].

"[Benjamin Bixby] is a character who's kind of like your uncle, or your granddad," says Andre. "And he has a closet full of experiences and clothes, and he's been around the world." Unlike Outkast Clothing, the Benjamin Bixby line is expected to be carried in upscale retailers, such as Barney's. Andre also says he's been visiting Italian factories and Parisian textile fairs, while taking style advice from Vogue editor and noted fashionista Anna Wintour.

Although he's been keeping busy with fashion and acting, Andre 3000 also expressed hopes of releasing an album this fall in a recent interview with Vibe.

"[Production will be handled by] Organized Noize, myself, and whoever got some heat. You know, I've been producing since ATLiens," adds Andre. "Even with music, I never say, 'Well, we [Outkast] got to put out a record every year.' I just want to express any way I can, whether it's film, music, or fashion."

Former R. Kelly Publicist's Daughter Comes Forward

The battle between R. Kelly and George and Regina Daniels intensified this week, as the couple's daughter—whom the singer is accused of having "crossed the line with"—came forward to share her side of the story.
Maxine Daniels, 21, gave a statement to the Chicago Sun Times after Kelly's camp released a press release of their version of the events in question. They accuse Regina Daniels of approving the relationship between Kelly and Maxine, stating that Regina provided Maxine with Kelly's private number, saying "don't tell your father."
In the Sun Times interview, Maxine refutes the idea that her parents condoned her relationship with Kelly.
"I take full responsibility for my actions," the younger Daniels said. "My stepmother and father didn't know about my relationship with the singer because I knew and he knew that they wouldn't approve ... so I tried to keep it a secret, but when my stepmother found out about our relationship, she resigned because she felt that Rob had 'crossed the line' by dating a girl that he has known since she was seven years old."
Maxine also says that the recent press release put out by Kelly's camp is an attempt to defame her parents. She also responded to allegations that her stepmother—who was The Pied Piper's publicist for more than a decade—was fired because of incompetence.
"My stepmom was not fired for incompetence. She was Rob's publicist for 14 years and always considered Rob not just a client ... but family. And Rob thought of my dad like a father."
She went on to add that she ended the relationship with Kelly after her parents began to hear rumors that the two were together. In addition, she refutes the claim that Regina Daniels gave her Kelly's personal number, saying "Rob personally slipped me his number."
There was also a Sun Times report that George Daniels—who has been seen in a number of R. Kelly videos—was seeking a six figure settlement to go away. Daniels denies that any monetary sum was ever asked for.
News of the questionable relationship began to hit the Internet after Regina was fired. A short time later, George released a statement saying Kelly "crossed the line" with his daughter and also lied when confronted with the allegations.
In a radio interview with KJLH in Los Angeles, Daniels says that his daughter's relationship with Kelly didn't get to "that extreme," referring to the singer's pending trial that resulted from the discovery of sex tapes with alleged minors.
"Or else I wouldn't be here, if you know what I'm talking about," he added

Sorry Raja I just found out some big news and had to post it up. There's a new movie about the life of The Notorious B.I.G. The movie producers just found the actor to play the famous rapper.

Notorious B.I.G. Actor Confirmed: Brooklyn Rapper Jamal 'Gravy' Woolard

Onscreen Biggie is a well-known figure on the mixtape circuit.
By Shaheem Reid
Producers of the film "Notorious" have finally found the man to play one the greatest MCs ever to grace a vocal booth: Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace. Fellow Brooklyn rapper Jamal Woolard — better known on the mixtape circuit as Gravy — has landed the coveted role. While other entertainers such as Beanie Sigel, West Coast rapper Guerilla Black and even Sean Kingston had expressed interest in the part, the producers conducted an exhaustive search, auditioning thousands of men across the country.

"Finding B.I.G. was a task in itself, and I'm honored that so many young men came out to audition for the role," Voletta Wallace, Biggie's mother, said in a statement released Thursday (March 6). "However, it was Jamal's charming personality, warm spirit, wonderful sense of humor and beautiful smile that won my heart. He is a talented and charismatic actor, and I am excited that he will bring Christopher's character to the big screen."
