It's availible through iTunes, Amazon and Napter. Love this song! She sounds COMPLETLY DIFFERENT from what she did in DC or in her Gospel albums so I hope everything goes well for her with this album.

Bill Cosby's hip new album is decent
Wednesday, Apr 16, 2008 - 12:06 AM

Bill Cosby's path has taken him from pudding pops to hip hop.

The 70-year-old has recorded a hip-hop album set for release next month. "Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency" blends the comedian's concepts and stories with a hip-hop, pop and jazz soundtrack.

"I do not rap on any of these things," Cosby told The Associated Press on Monday. "I wouldn't know how to fix my mouth to say some of the words."

Cosby said the hip-hop music he hears is profane and degrading. His album is "the opposite of what I think is the profanity for no particular reason, the misogyny for no particular reason," he said. "It really looks at the frustration and the anger that a young man may have."

The album, assembled by Cosby's longtime musical collaborator Bill "Spaceman" Patterson, contains rhymes provided by guest rappers. The subject matter? "The value of an education. The value of respecting one's self and . . . giving [listeners] a chance to raise their self-esteem and confidence," Cosby said.

Patterson said he was surprised when Cosby first inquired about making a rap record -- until the comedian revealed he wouldn't be the one doing the rapping.

"People started speculating, is he going to rap about Jell-O Pudding Pops or what?" Patterson said. "But he's always been involved in music and he was there for the first generation of spoken word. . . . He has always understood rap's potential, but he was appalled by the foul language and the misogyny -- the way people used a medium that could be used to elevate people, to open their eyes and provoke thought."

Cosby made the album as a companion to his 2007 best-selling book, "Come on, People: On the Path From Victims to Victors."

JD and Island Def Jam Connect With Tag Body Spray For New Label

Hip-Hop producer Jermaine Dupri and Island Def Jam have just opened up a new record label, TAG Records, which is a joint venture with Tag Body Spray. Dupri, who will act as president of the New York-based business, will set the creative vision for the label and play an integral part in identifying and developing its musical talent.

It's said that this will be a huge milestone for the music industry as artists will be supported with a multi-million dollar marketing effort that is unprecedented for any new artist, including television, print, radio, digital and event marketing.

"Today, we make history in the music industry with TAG Records," said Jermaine Dupri, president of TAG Records. "This label is going to provide new artists with a chance of a lifetime. New artists will receive ten times the typical marketing support - a first in the industry. I'm hand selecting and molding these artists to make history in hip hop."

TAG Record's first artist will be officially announced in May. The artist will be given a unique opportunity to merge their music with personal brand marketing.

In addition to an album release, the TAG Brand will showcase TAG Record's artist and Jermaine Dupri across various TAG brand advertising and marketing initiatives throughout 2008.

50 Cent Kicks Young Buck Out Of G-Unit & More!

What started out as another conversation between Miss Jones and her co-hosts on New York's Hot 97 radio station today [April 7] ended with a surprise phone call from Hip Hop heavyweight Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson who called in to clear up misconceptions about the law suit with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, talked about the differences between his real life and Get Rich or Die Tryin (which was based on his life), as well as startling comments about Lil Wayne, Fat Joe and the future of Young Buck with G-Unit.

Recently 50 Cent won a law suit which gave him the right to evict his ex-girlfriend, their son, and his ex's current boyfriend from his multi-million dollar home he had promised her she and her son could live in. When asked about how he could treat his ex in such a manner after she took care of him after he was almost fatally shot [as depicted in the movie] he replied "Thats a movie, i tried to paint a more positive outlook on her. I haven't dealt with her since 2003....she's not a nurse, [her new boyfriend] is a nurse. He's an RN...a regular nigga!" He then went on to say that as another part of the court ruling, his ex now owes him $9,000. "She's doing worse than Fat Joe right now," he joked.

50 then went on to talk about rival Fat Joe: "I'm not even tryin to sell a record... I'm just gonna give u the time of your life right now, homeboy. He got, like, 67k records in three weeks? He's finished!...He's soft, them boys in the Bronx don't even wanna deal wit him....he wants to 'say' that he wants to fight me. I told him the address on the record. It's not hard to find me....they know not to come around here wit that."

As far as the brewing beef with Lil Wayne who publicly decided not to respond to 50's taunts months ago, 50 says "He's smart. I be testing him." But also wonders why Jay-Z chose to not respond to Lil Wayne's negative comments when the two of them were rumored to have beef. "They had little altercations an dstuff...wow...Jay-Z must not want no trouble."
In response to his rumored altercation with Floyd Mayweather, 50 had this to say: "Yeah, we got into a little thing. We're both [are] real physical [people] and I put my hand in his face...its a reflex for him to punch...we get into lil things but...it wasn't a fight; [it wasn't serious]."

But most notably, 50 made it clear about the status of Young Buck, who has had a tumultuous relationship with G-Unit for the past several months:
"You can look at it and see that's Game all the way. I was giving him a chance, giving him the benefit of the doubt [to remain with the group]. You can take this as an official notice right here – pretty much you can say: Young Buck is no longer in the group G-Unit, but signed to G-Unit as a solo artist."

Eminem's Mother Sued

Eminem's mother, Debbie Nelson, has been sued by a man who alleges he helped her in the process of developing a tell-all book about her son.
According to the Detroit News, Neal Alpert claims in an Oakland County Circuit Court lawsuit filed on Monday (April 7) that Nelson developed the book while under contract with him.
The lawsuit alleges that in 2005, Nelson and Alpert entered into a contract in which he would be her agent, and receive 25 percent of the gross profits from the book, titled "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem."
The lawsuit alleges that the book has sold 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom since last year. It is set to hit U.S. stores this week.

"Tha Carter III" Pushed Back Again?

Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III has apparently been delayed yet again.

According to SOHH, the album, which was due out in May, is now slated for a June release.
The New Orlean's rapper hasn't released an album since 2005's Tha Carter II, though he has appeared on a slew of features and remixes, keeping him a fan favorite.

Tha Carter III has gone through numerous delays. Named "the #1 most anticipated album of 2007" by XXL, the release date was changed to 2008 after most of the album leaked in mid-2007. Wayne subsequently put out a release called The Leak, comprised of the most of that music.

Tha Carter III is due out on June 10th via Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Recordings.

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE OFFICAL ALBUM COVER OF CARTER III

Plies Sued For $10 Million
Rapper Plies, born Algernod Washington, is one of several defendants in a lawsuit filed by five attendees at a 2006 Plies show.
The five plaintiffs were injured during a shooting at the show, and are seeking $10 million in damages.

"If they're suing Mr. Washington, they're suing the wrong person," said attorney Robert Rush to the Gainesville Sun. "He does not have legal liability. It is not an entertainer's job to provide security for a club where the entertainer is performing."

Plies' record label, Slip-N-Slide, and 283 West, the venue where Plies performed that night, are also named in the suit. The suit alleges negligence on the part of the defendants. Reports indicate that members of Plies' entourage - the rapper's brother, Ronell Lavatte, and Tory Carnegie - fired into a sold-out crowd after Plies' microphone was cut off, in order to let Lil' Boosie on stage.
Lavatte and Carnegie were accused of firing at least three rounds and were charged with attempted murder. Police found five loaded firearms and rounds of ammunition in their vehicle.

Foxy Brown's Legal Troubles Not Over Just Yet
Foxy Brown is set to be released from Rikers Island next week, on Friday, April 18th.
The embattled Brooklyn femcee began serving a 241 day prison term on August 22, 2007 [click to read] after violating her probation for a 2004 assault charge [click to read].

“They had her do every day,” reminds her manager, and CEO of Black Hand Entertainment, Chaz Williams. “[She didn’t receive any] kind of special treatment. And she did [her time] under the worst conditions that you can do [time] under, at Rikers Island. They was pounding her, trying to break her spirit, and she held fast. She’s good and strong, mentally and emotionally.”
Unfortunately, Foxy’s well-documented legal troubles are not completely behind her just yet. According to court records, Foxy (real name Ingrid Marchand), is due back in Kings County Supreme Court on May 5th for a hearing regarding the incident, in which she allegedly assaulted her neighbor with her Blackberry, that led to her probation being revoked and her subsequent incarceration.

“The May hearing is dealing with the Brooklyn case that was still [pending],” Mr. Williams explains. “That was from the Brooklyn charge that she had prior to her going in on the parole violation. It’s being resolved. They’re working to resolve it. That charge is still pending resolution by trial or by otherwise.”

In addition to Ms. Marchand’s remaining unresolved legal matter with the state of New York, she is also still due to answer charges of battery and resisting arrest in the Sunshine State [click to read]. “She still has the Florida case,” Mr. Williams explains. “That wasn’t resolved before she went in either. The Florida incident is when they said that she sprayed glue on a guy, hair glue in the hair store, some nonsense. That’s gonna be resolved. That hearing is also after her release.”
Even with two criminal cases still without resolution, Mr. Williams told HipHopDX that he is confident his client will not be returning to jail after her release next week.

Chaz, who was profiled during the second season of BET’s critically acclaimed series "American Gangster "[click to read], is convinced that even though Foxy’s entire term at Riker’s wasn’t spent without incident [click to read] she will in fact be exiting prison a changed woman. “She has had time to sit and be idle, and really take an in-depth look into herself,” he notes. “And she’s gonna come out and start rebuilding her career through her music and through television.”
In addition to a rumored reality show [click to read], Foxy’s plans following her release from Riker’s include dropping her fourth full-length, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, on May 13th via a partnership between her own Black Rose Entertainment and Koch Records.
And according to her manager additional plans for Foxy going forward will be ironed out once she’s free. But career resurrection is definitely at the top of her to-do list, says Chaz, “She’s looking to go out on tour and do everything to get her career back in shape.”

T.I.: "I Brought it on Myself"
Rapper T.I. sat down recently with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution to grant his first interview since he was arrest for and plead guilty to three firearm charges.

For those unawares, T.I. was arrested for buying machine guns and silencers. As a result, the rapper was charged with 1,000-plus hours of community service, and 366 days in prison.
T.I. spoke on numerous things, one of which was his passion for community service: "I still have a huge amount of passion for what I do. I still have a huge amount of passion for doing what I can for the community. I still have my foundation — remembering where I came from and principles that have been instilled in me. But at the same time I also have an acknowledgment of things that need to be left behind, let go. And also an acknowledgment that there has to be an about-face. A 180-degree turn, in order for us to continue on the path to success."

The Atlanta native was also asked about the lessons learned from his recent trials, to which he responded, "Patience. Just a lot of patience. If I can sit at home all day and wait on people to bring me what I need. Wait on getting permission to be able to do this and do that it's not as serious as I used to make it sometimes. Sometimes it was like, 'If I don't get this right now I'm just going to lose it'...When you're going 350 mph it tends to be that way. But when you are stopped — halted — not slowed down, but halted, you figure 'Well I could have just slowed down. I didn't have to be stopped.' I thought it was bad just to slow down. Now I see in me being stopped, I could have done this, been this, myself, instead of being forced to do it."

T.I. also discussed getting married. While he doesn't plan to set a public date, he did not discount the possibility. In addition the rapper has a son on the way, due May 25th. Keeping with the topic, he addressed the idea of explaining to his children about the wrongs he has done: "If they say something like that I'm prepared to deal with it: 'I also had to pay the price, for all of the things that I did. And you're going to pay the price for what you just did. Come see me.'"

Finally, T.I. talked about the night his friend and Grand Hu$tle employee Philant Johnson was killed next to him. "I've had bullets whiz by me before then. The scariest day?...Hmm. I mean, this past situation ranks high up there. The night of the awards ranks very high up there on the list.," he said, referring to the night he was arrested.

"It was sort of like a, well, you remember the [last] Super Bowl, right? You know Jeremy Shockey? He broke his leg. He had to sit up in the press box and watch. He couldn't help his team win. He couldn't play. The greatest, most talked-about, most publicized Super Bowl in our time and he's sitting watching; instead of actually being able to participate. Terrible... And I know, I know, I brought it on myself."

Chuck Liddell Has No Love For Kimbo Slice

After gaining popularity via a series of backyard fights that made it to the Internet, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson has not yet gained the respect of his new mixed martial arts peers.

The latest MMA veteran to take issue with Slice’s rising popularity is former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell. Despite Kimbo’s undefeated record, Liddell is not yet sold on the sport’s newest star.
"People talk about him like he's the next great thing when he really hasn't done anything.”

Slice is currently 2-0 in professional competition, but has been in the octagon less than two minutes. He made short work of Bo Cantrell, knocking him out in 19 seconds in his EliteXC debut back in November.
He also made short work of former UFC fighter David “Tank” Abbott at EliteXC’s “Renegade” with a knockout coming at 49 seconds in the first round.
Liddell quickly dismissed the victories, and also sized up Slice’s MMA weaknesses.
"When Kimbo fought Cantrell, that was the third time he's been knocked out in under 30 seconds,” Liddell stated. "Kimbo's one of those guys who doesn't have any ground game. He's training and he's learning but he's been built up as such a big star and that's the thing that bothers me.”

“The Iceman” also jokingly said he too could build up an impressive online resume of street fights as well.
"I could make some impressive knockout videos too if you let me walk outside and just punch people and knock them out – "hey you, come fight! Fuck we can make a highlight reel tomorrow and go round beating people up and talk about it – we could just go up to people and start dropping them – wow!" he said in an interview with The Sun.
Slice is scheduled to face an unnamed opponent at EliteXC’s network television debut on CBS May 31.

Okay...idk where to put this so if this is wrong, move it please. In the meantime, I been seeing commercials about this on TV. Very shocked and supprised. Flavor Flav on an actual sitcom?! idk what's going on...

Under One Roof

Summary
Wednesdays at 8/7c on myNetworkTV
Calvester and Winston Hill act like they are from opposite sides of the track when they actually just grew up on opposite sides of the room. Years later, Winston is a successful and wealthy real estate developer with a perfect and privileged family, but his life gets interrupted when his street smart, older brother Calvester finally gets out of prison and moves into the mansion.

It’s not long before Calvester begins parading his old prison cronies through the house driving the Hill family crazy - butting heads with Winston’s trophy wife Ashley (Carrie Genzel); seventeen year-old princess Heather (Marie Michael); and housekeeper Su Ho (Emily Kuroda). Calvester even teaches Winston’s sixteen year-old son, Winston Jr. (Jesse Reid) to be a gangster rapper.

Victim of Remy Ma (AND REMY MA!) Speaks Out
Posted May 16, 2008

Makeda Barnes-Joseph, the victim in the Remy Ma shooting, speaks out in a radio interview with Miss Jones on NYC Hot 97’s morning show. In a passionate interview, where the victim was crying and giving her side of the story. “It was me and Remy in that car. I know who shot me.” Though Makeda says that she was advised not to do interviews, she detailed the incident. “Because I didn’t let go of my bag. It end up with me getting shot. Because I didn’t give up my bag, she shot me. I’m, like, ‘Remy you shot me!’ ”

“I sat in the hospital for three weeks and 1 day, Miss Jones. The scars on my stomach are crazy. I don’t even know if I can have kids. You can’t say 8 years is excessive. She got a kid. I may not be able to have kids,” Makeda passionately cries. On Monday (May 12), Remy was sentenced to 8 years, after she was convicted for assault for the shooting.

The victim continued to speak out. “Everyone who was there know what happened, Miss Jones…I’m not out for no money. I wouldn’t steal from Remy, that was my girl. If you see her anywhere, I was with her. We was cool. I never asked Remy for anything. I would never steal from nobody.”

Remy called the station a few minutes later to talk to Miss Jones and assert her innocence. “I don’t care if 12 million said guilty. I was there. She was there. I’m not agreeing to this.

Miss Jones asked Remy how she was holding up. “I’m okay. Everybody is wondering why i’m not on the floor crying my eyes out,” Remy said.

Baby Makes Five for T.I.
May 16th, 2008

Rapper T.I and longtime girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle” welcomed a baby boy into the world early Friday morning.

According to PEOPLE, the infant’s name is Major Harris, and he weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. He is the fifth child for T.I., 27, and his second with Cottle. The couple are already parents to son King Harris, 3. “God has blessed us with another miracle,” says T.I., born Clifford Harris.

With all he’s put himself through in the past year, imagine the life lessons he could teach this kid? Like how having your bodyguard purchase $21,000 worth of machine guns for you, especially when you’re already a convicted felon, is just a bad idea.

“Gabriel felt the time was right to propose. He gave her the family heirloom because he wanted to show her how much she means to him, and how she will be accepted into the Aubry family,” a source close to the couple said. “The ring belonged to Gabriel’s grandmother – it was her engagement ring.”

But PEOPLE is reporting a different story, saying Halle bought the ring for herself.

So if she is in fact engaged, we guess that whole “no marriage” oath of her’s is out the window. Well, at least she dated the man for more than six weeks — Mariah! More power…
