hahaha oh hell no! since when has the 90's been cool shit? People are too god damn nostalgic. The 90s for me passed by like it was yesterday, but I guess if you are alot younger you would tend to reminisce about growing up, however it was no fun period for me.

I was born in '89, but I remember surprisingly little of the ninties. We didn't have cable until 2000, so I missed out on most of the pop culture stuff that defines a generation in popular memory. I never watched transformers or Beavis and Butthead or Boy Meets World or Doug or He-Man or Fresh Prince of Bel Air - I was too young, and like I said, no cable. I remember watching Animaniacs, though. That was a great show. And Ducktales. And I had a tamagachi. And I wanted a digimon, but by the time I got one the fad was over and no one at school cared anymore, so I had no one to play with :(.

It wasn't really until the late 90s that my generation became old enough to gain nostalgic memories. And that was right when Pokemon became popular. Bah, just our luck! I wish Digimon had been the anime show that got popular in watered-down dubbed form for little kids in the late 90s - it was far, far better than pokemon.

there are a lot of kids posting in this thread who probably remember very little of the 90s... i don't think teenagers are old enough to be nostalgiac. I'm barely old enough too. I probably remember as much of the 80s as these people do about the 90s (i remember from about 1986 and on...)

That first huge list was gold. Most of it was right on the money.

Here's a few:

You remember watching Star Trek: The Next Generation before it ended

You remember when you looked forward to the new Star Wars movies.

You remember "I did not have sex with that woman" (finger pointing at you)

You remember seeing Desert Storm on TV.

You remember when the Berlin Wall fell (or was that 89?)

You remember when "pumps" referred to basketball shoes.

You remember when Kurt Cobain died.

You remember when Marilyn Manson was shocking.

You remember playing Myst. You remember when EVERYONE was buying Myst.

You remember when arcades were actually filled with people.

You still think the concept of playing Sonic a nintendo system is some how fundamentally wrong.

You remember paying less that a dollar for a gallon of gas.

You remember when it was cool to wear airwalk or vans sneakers.

You remember when MTV played music.

You remember AD&D.

You remember when wearing flannel shirts was cool.

You remember "The roof, the roof, the roof is on ____..."

You remember when Smashing Pumpkins were considered hip and popular.

You remember how much you wanted to bang the living snot out of Darcy from Smashing Pumpkins.

You remember when lolapalooza was cool.

You remember having to listen to your idiot classmates - girls and guys - talking about how cool "blossom" and "saved by the bell" were. (i despised those shows)

You remember when the first President Bush invaded Iraq.

You remember when Mortal Kombat was shocking.

You remember buying cassettes.

You remember buying VHS.

You remember Windows 3.1

You remember DOS.

You remember being amazed by the special effects in Terminator 2.

You remember when there was nothing cooler on the face of the planet than Jurassic Park.

You remember when airport bookstores sold nothing but Michael Chricton books.

You remember not having the internet.

You remember thinking rap was just a fad.

You remember being excited about the "young indiana jones chronicles" then feeling very very cheated after trying to get into it.

You remember when Lucasarts made good computer games.

You remember when Lucasfilm made good movies (ok, so that was more like 80s...).

You remember when CDs came with detailed instructions.

You remember when rollerblades were cool.

You remember when Pauly Shore was allowed to make movies.

You remember when Chris Farley, River Phoenix, Phil Hartman and Jim Henson died.

You remember when JFK Jr and Princess Di died.

I could keep going for hours, but that's enough for off the top of my head. The 90s started out great till and were good till about 97-98 or so. Then things started to get shitty. Nu-metal, over commercialized rap, pop punk, boy bands, reality TV... yeah all downhill from there.
