That's the whole point I was trying to say from my first post. duh! O_O

It's not just men like what Faeleia suggested. women too.

Perhaps it was a typo error on her part.
I think she means by "man"

Good point and I am also really surprised with people's ignorance about Singapore and think that it's just a 3rd world country.

hmm, not always the case I'd have to say
Coming from personal experience, take today for example.

I met a nice cool chick at work today, however... she is a fob.
I couldn't talk to her in English obviously, and well we talk in Chinese.
However my Chinese is pretty 'simple', I can't understand the complicated terms, so sometimes communicating with these 'overseas' Chinese people is really hard.
and yeh, i usually get comments about my crappy Chinese from them.
I speak like a "foreigner" (loose translation/term) and I use basic words etc.

Whole time i'm thinking , for fucks sakes. You're in Australia, quit telling me to learn Chinese and learn some bloody English. oh yeh and btw, get ur citizenship already kthnxbye
But yeh... it doesn't make me feel any better >.>

However, my friends (who speak pure English), we tend to look down on fobs.
Not the really serious way though, mostly just for laughs

I don't. And enough with the generalization. No one can really know this answer unless that person has survey (and I mean more than 500) those who are Asian to really have a solid answer; other than that, it will be just opinion based.

lol i look down on native filipinos(i'm half) since they're all skinny and tanned and not attractive at all. plus they live in a like a third world country that has bad polution and it is super hot there

Wow just Wow. I can't believe you said that. So what if they're all skinny and tanned, they live in a tropical country and it's expected to be super hot there. Since they live in a third world country, you look down at them? are you kidding me ?. Do you have no pride at all on where you're coming from ?

Since you are half, you think you are the superior race ? In general, there is no reason to look down at others.

As for the OP question, I don't look down at others in general, although, it bothers me the fact that I can't speak Chinese because I was born in Indonesia and noone since my great grandparents speak chinese. I look like Chinese and there's Chinese blood running through my vein. I will learn it someday though :).

lol first of all i wasn't born in the philipins *thank god for that* and i'm part german too i'm not one to care about what ethnicity i am either lol

I think native asian thinks over seas asians look down on THEM..face it soem native asain's got pride issues, anyone wiht a cousin in thier native country would understand. But some oversea asian actually looks down on native asains..it's also ironic that these asains tend to be the ones who doesn't know a thing about thier own culture, and haven't properly studied history (they are also the ones that act like jack asses).

It just aint right.... we were made equal so why look down?
one who looks down on others usually means that they have some sort of insecurities with him/herself and trying to cover it up by acting all high and mighty.
its like a person who bullies others just so that he can prove he is better but runs away when met with an adversary.
wars happen due to this feeling of superiority. history has proven that even 3rd world countries can be 1st world countries. look at Singapore, China, Japan and even India.
These countries have transformed from being colonies to become independent nations.
So for those overseas asians who think they are better, just think that if the countries of your ancestors were not liberated from their colonies, do you think that you would be where you are now?

I do agree with ChaosEmpire. I live in Singapore and when I walk pass overseas Asians, they look at me as though I am an alien & they use the (no offense to my western counterpart friends) western "slang" of speaking English. When I use Asian languages to greet them, they will usually reply "Oh Pulease!!!! Speak English. I don't know my native tongue" The sad part of reality. People who don't know their roots.

Don't you dare look down on native Asians...This is where you came from, you'd just be silly if you looked down on the group of people your ancestors came from.Besides,English is now a prioritized language in most countries.

Not really. I call them "hilaw" or half-cooked. They're not really asians anymore depending on how much of the culture you've lost when you were growing up outside.

If you've lost alot, you're not asian anymore and looking down on us is just plain racism.

If you haven't lost a lot, I doubt it that it would be easy for you to look down on us anyway. You'd feel you're still part of the culture and looking down on natives means looking down on yourself.
