“Mama, Papa, as you know, I’m fairly grown up already, and I thoug-” I couldn’t finish. I was interrupted.

“I KNEW IT! YOU WERE PREGNANT! MAMA, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?!”

“Now, Papa, calm down, remember what the doctor said, no raising your blood pressure! Let Amu continue.” Mama said, while wagging her finger at Papa.

“As I was saying, I’m a responsible adult already, and I have thought long and hard about thi-“I was interrupted, again.

“And Amu, why are there big black circles under your eyes? Papa! Don’t start crying!” Mama said.

“Mama! Papa, Can you listen to me?” I was frustrated enough!

“It’s all yours!” Mama said, with a flourish. Uh huh. If they interrupt me one more time…

“I want to go to Greenblade Academy.” I said quickly, and hurriedly showed them the brochure and printed pages I printed out last night, before I was interrupted. Sigh. At least I got to tell them something first.

“Amu,” Papa surprisingly came serious. “We all know that Greenblade is of a very high standard, we would support you if you wanted, but, how can you register! It’s the middle of the year, and how would they accept you so late?

“Exactly, Amu dear” Mama said, looking at what I passed her.

“Well, you see that’s not a problem! Actually, you’re allowed to, it’s the middle of the year! I already checked. And they will accept me if I want to go because they sent me a scholarship to go to Paris! For free!” I said.

“WHAT?” Mama and Papa said. “Since when did they send you this, Amu, and why did we not see it?” Mama said.

“I grabbed my mail and didn’t look at them till last night?” I said, hoping they would buy it, which they did.

“Oh.”

“So can I go?” I asked faking eagerness, when all I wanted was to get away from my old life.”

“It’s a long way, dear, how will we know your safe, will you come and visit us?” Papa said, still serious. That was a record. I must send this to the Guinness Book of Records!

“They have holiday breaks so I’ll come and visit! Besides, it would be sad if I missed out on a chance like this. They send it out by grades, not my chance, Mama and Papa. I must go!” I said.

“I...We...Guess so… But you must promise us to be responsible and be careful, okay?” Mama said, looking at Papa, who nodded and then to me.

“YES! Thanks so much!” I screamed, going to hug them. To admit, I was excited, because it was an all-girls school, it was an English school and it seemed like a really nice place. And by nice, I mean rich. Did you SEE the dorms? It had king size beds… everything was perfect. “I have to go and phone them now and register! Bye.” I went upstairs to my room.

“AMU! YOUR BREAKFAST!” Mama called.

Oh. My breakfast. I forgot.

“Good morning Amu!” My charas greeted me good morning.

“What are you doing desu~” Su asked.

“Guys…I’m going abroad to school, I’m quitting Seiyo Academy.” I said.

“WHAT??!!” My charas screamed.

“Papa, Mama, WI Whear Shomthing Sloud. Is Shomeone shouting?” Ami asked downstairs in a loud voice. I quickly asked my charas to quiet down, and I explained everything to them, in detail.

“Oh,” Miki said.

“Ikuto came?” Dia asked, sounding mystified.

“Yes, and I need to register right now for school, so if you mind…” I said. I picked up the phone and dialed in the number given on the letter.

“Hello, this is Hinamori Amu. Yes, I would like to register, I was given a scholarship. Yes, tomorrow?! Yes, ok. Thank you.

“I have to go packing,” I said. “My plane takes off today, 3p.m. Guys, you’ll come with me, right?” I said.

“Of course Amu! Wherever!” Dia aid.

“But not the toilet desu~” Su said, and Ran laughed.

I smiled and went to my top shelf and dragged down my pink suitcase. I started piling it with all my clothes, my jewelry, and my notebooks. I took down my on-cabin bag, which was an Esports brand, and put it with my sweater, my diary, and I hesitated at my Guardian purse. I picked it up and threw it in the bin. It landed with a ‘thud’, but I didn’t turn twice.

“Amu desu~…” Su said.

“I’m okay.” I replied.

“Actually, Amu, I think she was going to ask you where we put our eggs.” Ran asked. Dia, Miki and Su giggle, and I blushed slightly.

“I’m going to go shopping and buy you a new one. And my parents gave me 2000 to exchange into Paris’s currency. “I said. After I had bathed, dried my hair and worn my clothes I went shopping, with my charas choosing what they should get. The day was basically filled with “No! This is better!” and “Get this one!” After I had exchanged the money and bought a really nice small bag enough to put their eggs in and there was space to spare. Then, I went home.

“Hi Mama! I’m back!” I called to her when I entered the front door.

“Oh! Good! Your friends came to visit you!” Mama called. Friends? As in, the Gaurdians? I panicked.
“Amu. Why?” A soft voice said, and I was staring at Rima’s face, and Tadase, Chika and Nagehiko was staring behind her.

I ran out of the house.
