i have no idea what tales of vesperia is, which i think is a testament to it's abysmal reputation or lack thereof. OP fails hard.

besides FFXIII will murder that game

There is so much wrong with this comment I wont bother to point it out.

That persons a retard? besides i have a bad feeling (or good feeling, depends) that FFXIII will end up being way overrated and not a very good game in general. call me pessimistic i just have that feeling.

Eh I have a similar feeling, but then again, this is one of the most hyped games sense forever, and it would be hard for almost anything to meet those expectations.

Final Fantasy has been massively over rated since 8. As for "new and innovative RPG's on PS3"....... I am not going to say what popped into my head when I read that. Have you even looked at the Xbox360 rpgs? Almost all of them that are on the PS3 also get released on the 360 too. Including your holy grail FF 13. So no it is not going to improve sales of the ps3 in America, because anyone who wants it but already has a 360 and not a PS3 (thats alot of people in the US) is going to buy the 360 version.

Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles are so old hat it is sad also. Chronicles just follows the Shining Force method that has existed since the early 80's, it just adds guns and tanks to the mix. I bet you it is even made by the same people. Also there was a highly similar turn based strategy RPG released a little before chronicles based around characters who could turn into werewolves and took place during WW2. Gameplay was almost identical. Every tales games plays the exact same way, I don't what else to say it hasn't done anything new in over a decade. Whats worse.... Vesperia came out for the 360 too.

Meanwhile the 360 has the exclusive Mass Effect series. I hate to say this, but it is EASILY the best overall RPG made in the last 3 years. It only has the drawback of being short. It has also reinvented RPG combat with a real new system of gameplay never used before in any RPG. Something no JRPG made in the last 10 years can claim except for maybe a Final Fantasy. Then there is Star Ocean 4... well thats not a big JRPG is it? Oh wait, yeah it is, and it is 360 exclusive. Then there is Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, basically anything made by Mistwalker the same guys who created that Final Fantasy at square. Then there is Fable 2 another big RPG that is exclusive.

The PS3 as a system does not hold a candle to the 360 on RPG's. Anyone who says it does is a mindless fanboy, I hate to be honest but that is just how it is. There is not one single exclusive RPG property on the PS3 worth getting excited over and all of it's good RPG's come out on the Xbox 360 too. The reverse is not true. In the last console generation the PS2 was king of RPG's, anyone who knows anything about the industry will tell you this gen it is the Xbox 360. As for sales figures how about this... I bet Mass Effect 1 sold more copies in the US alone than Chronicles and Vesperia did combined worldwide. That makes the console install base issue sort of moot.

As for the Wii... uh it is the top selling console everywhere. And last month Wii Fit was the number 2 selling game in the US as well. But that has nothing to do with this thread. Before I am labeled a fanboy myself please be aware I own all three consoles, a PSP, and a DS. I even intend to buy the PS3 version of FF13 so I can have it on one disc, but I am not touching VS 13 with a ten foot pole and in general the Xbox 360 has more games I like. That's all that really matters in the end.
