My current fave anime is Bleach.

Here are some things I know about it.

(Spoilers ahead if you haven't read/watched the series. I don't know how to do those special tags...sorry.)

The main male character, and main character is a guy named Kurosaki Ichigo (Note - Ichigo means Strawberry) - a high school student and substitute Shinigami (Soul Reaper/Death God). Ichigo lives with his father, Isshin and his two younger, fraternal twin sisters - Yuzu and Karin. His mother, Masaki, died when he was only young.

The main female character is Kuchiki Rukia. She had an older sister, Hisana, who died about 50 years before the main storyline. In the Soul Society, Hisana met Kuchiki Byakuya, a member of one of the Four Noble houses - and consequently, married him. Before then, she had abandoned Rukia, but continued searching for her until she died. On her death bed, Hisana told Byakuya that she wanted him to find her sister, but not to tell her that she was her sister because she didn't think that she deserved to be called Rukia's sister. Byakuya found Rukia when she enrolled in the Shinigami Academy and adopted her into the Kuchiki clan as his sister.

In the first episode, Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. The Kurosaki household was being attacked by a Hollow (evil spirit), and Rukia had been called to cleanse said Hollow and send it off to the Soul Society. However, she is injured by the Hollow and tells Ichigo that if he wants to save his family, he will have to become a Shinigami. Rukia only intended on transferring half her powers, but instead ended up transferring all of them. Ichigo is then able to defeat the Hollow.

Rukia is forced to remain in the real world, living in Ichigo's closet, for a while. After a while, Byakuya and her childhood friend Renji (who is now the Lieutenant of 6th Division) come and get her. Ichigo tries to stop them, but fails and Rukia returns to the Soul Society. She then receives punishment for her actions - execution by the Sogyoku (sp?).

Ichigo teams up with Chad, Orihime, Ishida (despite the fact that he hates Ichigo because he is a Shinigami, and Ishida is a Quincy) and Yoruichi (who can take the form of a black male talking cat). He trains with Kisuke Urahara under his shop for 10 days before heading off to the Soul Society.

After a few days (and some epicly cool fights), Ichigo succeeds in saving Rukia. It is then discovered that the true intention of the execution was for Aizen to free the Hogyoku (sp?)

In the Seretei (where the Shinigami reside) there are 13 Divisions.

First Division (Ichibantai)
Captain Commander - Yamamoto Genryuusei-Shigekuni. Yamamoto is the oldest Captain and also the founder of the Shinigami Academy

Lieutenant - Saskibe Chojiro

Second Division (Niibantai)[/b[
Captain - Soifon
Former Captain - Shihouin Yoruichi

Lieutenant - Marechiyo Omaeda - a fat guy who's always either picking his nose or eating - sometimes both

Third Division (Sanbantai)
Former Captain - Ichimaru Gin (left Soul Society with Aizen)
Note - 3rd Division has a new captain - Amagi - in one of the filler arcs.

Lieutenant - Kira Izuru

Fourth Division (Yonbantai)
Captain - Unohana Retsu (one of the four original captains)

Lieutenant - Kotetsu Isane

Other members - Yamada Hanatoro. I think Rikichi was also in 4th.

Fifth Division (Gobantai)
Former Captain - Sosuke Aizen
Captain preceding Aizen - Shinji (Aizen was Lieutenant under Shinji)

Lieutenant - Hinamori Momo

Sixth Division (Rokubantai
Captain - Kuchiki Byakuya
Former Captain - I can't remember his name but he was Byakuya's grandfather

Lieutenant - Abarai Renji

Seventh Division (Shichibantai)
Captain - Komamura Sajin

Lieutenant - Iba Tetzusaemon (sp?) Iba transferred from 11th Division after realising that he would never become lieutenant there)

Eighth Division (Hachibantai)
Captain - Kyoraku Shunsui. Another one of the four original captains. Loves sake, sleeping and chasing women (namely Nanao)

Lieutenant - Ise Nanao (who conveniently carries a book and fan to hit Kyoraku with)
Former Lieutenant - Lisa

Ninth Division (Kyubantai)
Former Captain - Tosen Kaname (who is all about justice but totally went the wrong way about it)
Captain preceding Tosen - Kensei

Lieutenant - Hisagi Shuuhei
Former Lieutenant - Machiro (under Kensei)

Tenth Division (Jyuubantai)
Captain - Hitsugaya Toshiro - youngest Captain in the Gotei 13.

Lieutenant - Matsumoto Rangiku - kind of lazy and enjoys drinking sake with people like Kira and Hisagi.

Eleventh Division (Jyuuichibantai)
Captain - Zaraki Kenpachi - crazy, battle-loving guy.

Lieutenant - Kusajishi Yachiru.
Note - in the Bount arc, 11th Division had a former Lieutenant - Maki Ichinose.

Zaraki and Kusajishi met before they came to the Seretei. Zaraki was previously nameless, but then chose the name "Kenpachi" for himself - meaning the strongest swordsman/the one who likes to fight the most. Zaraki is the name of the 80th Rukongai District, where he was from. He named Yachiru after the only person he ever admired. Kusajishi is the name of the 79th Rukongai District - where she was from.

Other members - Madarame Ikkaku, Yumichika (a pretty boy with a liking of beautiful things and a dislike of ugly things) and Aramaki Makizou.

Twelfth Division (Jyuuniibantai)
Captain - Kurotsuchi Mayuri
Former Captain - Urahara Kisuke
Captain preceding Urahara - Hikifune

Lieutenant - Kurotsuchi Nemu (Mayuri created Nemu)
Former Lieutenant - Hiyori

Other members - Akon, Rin

Thirteen Division (Jyuusanbantai)
Captain - Ukitake Jyuushiro. One of the four original captains. He likes giving sweets to Hitsugaya. This is for two reasons - the first being, they both have white hair and the second being, they both have "Shiro" in their name. Shiro means white. He also suffers from tuberculosis, which is why he has white hair. This also earnt him the nickname "Captain TB" by some Bleach fans (me being one of them).

Former Lieutenant - Shiba Kaien (Kaien died avenging the death of his wife, Miyako).

13th Division currently has no Lieutenant - instead the duties of lieutenant have been taken on by 3rd seats Kotsubaki Sentaro and Kotetsu Kiyone (Isane's younger sister). These two are constantly arguing with each other.

Other members - Kuchiki Rukia

There is more stuff I know but I'm off to bed now, I might post things tomorrow.

My continuation of what I know about Bleach.

All Shinigami have Zanpakutos (Soul Slayer). A Zanpakuto has two release stages - Shikai and Bankai.

Shinigami and their Zanpakutos

Ichigo - Zangetsu
Renji - Zabimaru
Yamamoto - Ryuujin Jakka
Soifon - Suzumebachi
Ichimaru - Shinsou
Unohana - Minazuki
Byakuya - Senbonzakura
Kyoraku - Katen Kyokotsu
Kaname - Suzumushi
Hitsugaya - Hyorinmaru
Mayuri - Ashisogi Jizou
Ukitake - Sogyo no Kotowari

Each Zanpakuto also has its own release command.

Some Zanpakutos and their Release Commands
Zabimaru - Howl, Zabimaru!
Suzumebachi - Sting, Suzumebachi!
Shinsou - Shoot to kill, Shinsou!
Hyorinmaru - Sit upon the frozen heavens, Hyorinmaru!
Sogyo no Kotowari - All waves, rise now, and become my shield! Lightning, strike now, and become my blade! Sogyo no Kotowari!

There are also other groups besides Shinigami and those who reside in the real world.

Vizards
Some of the Vizards:
Shinji
Hiyori
Kensei
Lisa
Hachigen (Hachi)
Machiro

Arrancar/Espada
The Espada is the name given to the top 10 Arrancar.
Some Arrancar/Espada are:
Grimmjow Jaegerjacques (Was the 6th Espada, before having his arm cut off by Tosen. Luppi replaces him as the 6th Espada. However, after Orihime restores his arm, he regains his position)

Ulquiorra Schiffer (4th Espada)
Yammi (10th Espada)
Nel (I think, formerly, 3rd Espada?)
Szayel Apollo Grantz
Halibel
Nnoitra

(Szayel, Halibel and Nnoitra are three of the other Espada, not sure of their ranking though)

(Note - I've only seen up to Ep 151 and not read much of the manga, so if any of this has changed, I'm not aware of it).

In the Soul Society, there are three ways a Shinigami can become a Captain.

1. Take a test which requires the ability to perform Bankai. The test must be witnessed by three of the current Captains, including Yamamoto.

2. To have personal recommendations from at least six of the existing Captains and approval from at least three of the remaining seven.

3. To defeat the previous Captain one-on-one with at least 200 witnesses. Zaraki Kenpachi is the only Captain known to have gained his position using this method.

Well - that's all I can think of.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (処女はお姉さまに恋してる) >> Japanese
The Maidens are Falling in Love with Elder Sister >> English
or commonly known as Otoboku(おとボク)

This anime actually came from a game. But I will only tell you about the anime.

Number of eps.: 12 (Oct 8, 2006 - Dec 24, 2006)

About the title:
The original title uses the kanji 処女 (shōjo, 処女), which can mean both "virgin" and "young lady". The creators added furigana subscript to indicate they wanted it read "otome" meaning young maiden. Additionally, furigana was added above お姉さま (Oneesama, お姉さま) to indicate that they wanted it read "boku", in order to highlight the fact the main character was actually male. Despite the different kanji, the official reading is "Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru", meaning "Maidens are Falling in Love with Me".

My other fav is ef - a tale of memories.. But I'm not that diligent enough to put in both.. I still have a long list of anime i want to watch before January 8... @_@

I'm a bookworm and a fun fact collector, so memorizing most of everything I read/watch is kind of an automatic thing for me. Favorite anime... I'll go with Saiunkoku Monogatari, since it has the most information to give.

Warning: enormous spoiler content.

Saiunkoku Monogatari (often translated as "The Tale of the Land of the Colored Clouds") is based on a light novel. The main character's name is Kou Shuurei, a princess of the Kou (crimson) clan, one of the noble clans of the land of Saiunkoku (Land/Palace of the Colored Clouds). There are eight clans: Kou (Shuurei's family, one of the most powerful clans, means crimson), Ran (the family or Ran Shuuei, the Emperor's right hand man and one of the most important characters in the series; means indigo; shares the "most important" spot with the Kou clan), Shi (the ruling dynasty, the family of Shi Ryuuki (the Emperor of Saiunkoku who loves Shuurei), means purple), Heki (family of Heki Hakumei, Heki Karin, and Heki Banri; the most artistic family, known for producing some of the most artistically and intellectually minded people in Saiunkoku; means green), Koku (means black), Kou (is pronounced the same way as Shuurei's family's name (also Kou), but the kanji is different, so it translates to yellow rather than crimson; family of Kou Kijin, one of Shuurei's superiors and supporters), and Hyou (family of Hyou Riou (Jr. and Sr.), the most mysterious clan in Saiunkoku who's members are known for having strange powers; means white). Each clan has a home province of the same name. The clans were named for the Eight Colored Enlightened Ones, who, as the legend has it, helped Saiunkoku's first emperor drive the evil from the land and found the country. Saiunkoku is similar to ancient China. Eight years before the start of the story, the emperor became very ill, and his sons fought each other for the right to become emperor. The country's second prince, Shi Seien (who is later revealed to be Shi Seiran, Shuurei's family's retainer) was banished years before, and the youngest prince, Shi Ryuuki (who later became the emperor) did not participate in the fight, as he had no desire to become emperor. All of his brothers killed each other in the fight for the title, and Ryuuki unexpectedly ended up on the throne. The story begins eight years later, when Shuurei receives an unexpected visit from one of the oldest and highest ranking officials in the country. Shuurei's family, despite having noble status, is extremely poor, so she and Seiran, her family's hansom retainer, work odd jobs to pay for food and repairing the impractically large mansion they live in. The official says he has a job for Shuurei (who is a world-class penny pincher), and offers her five hundred gold ryou (an enormous sum) to do it. She accepts immediately without waiting to hear what the job is. As it turns out, the job is to become the emperor's wife for six months. Apparently, the emperor, having been dropped on the throne when his father died unexpectedly six months before, after living a life being beaten and told he was worthless by his mother and older brothers, never participates in courtly matters, leaving it all to his assistants. There is also a rumor that he prefers men over women romantically. Shuurei, upon hearing this, is shocked. Shuurei is moved into the extravagant royal harem. While living in the palace, she meets Ran Shuuei, a promising young military officer, and Li Kouyuu, who is famous for having passed the National Exams as Jougen, the number one position, at only sixteen years of age (later in the series, Shuurei passes as Tanka, the third position; her friend and Ran Shuuei's genius, eccentric brother Ran Ryuuren second; and To Eigetsu, another of Shuurei's friends who has a split personality, Yougetsu, who comes out every time he drinks sake, passes as Jougen at only thirteen, beating Kouyuu's record by three years). After spending five days at the palace without even catching a glimpse of the emperor (Ran Shuuei and Li Kouyuu, who are assigned to personally tend to the emperor, have never met him either), Shuurei goes for a walk on the grounds to drink some tea and eat some manjuu buns, and sees a stand of sakura trees. She reaches up to get some petals to float in her tea, but she can't reach the branch. Someone comes up behind her to try and get them for her, and a strong wind blows by. Surprised, the person accidentally breaks off the whole branch. Shuurei looks up and sees a young man slightly older than herself. He introduces himself as Ran Shuuei, which is suspicious in itself as Shuurei had already met Ran Shuuei. Shuurei, though she doesn't say it then, immediately realizes, because of a combination of his clothing, his attitude, his fake name, and a number of other things that he's the emperor. They enjoy some tea together and the emperor mentions in passing that he "knows the emperor" and can give him any message she wishes. Shuurei tells him they would only matter if she were to tell him in person.

Fwew. And that's only the first ep with some miscalaneous info thrown in. I'm not really willing to type out the rest.
