She loved her mother very much, but her mother never seemed to return this love. If the girl tried to hug her mother, she would receive a slap, and be pushed onto the floor. The abuse of this girl began at the age of five, when her mother used to allow her step father to beat her with sticks, cut her for no reason and push things down her throat. He once beat her so heavily that all the skin on the left side of her face was ripped off, and her eye was lazy for the rest of her life, afterwards. When ever the little girl cried for her mother, she'd tell her she deserved what she was getting, and that she was not to be saved. at the age of seven, her mother began letting men rape her for money. She also began allowing her husband to do the same, until the young girl was 12 years old. The girl was isolated, and was sometimes not allowed to go to school incase the autorities were called ebcause of the severity of her injuries. She was constantly hit with bike chains, and chairs were smashed over her head. The young girl began visiting her grandmother when she was thirteen. Her grandmother showed her the love and care that she had never received from her mother. No matter how much she loved her grandmother, she could never bring herself to tell her until she was fourteen, when her step father had threatned to kill her boyfriend. Her gradmother took her in, and cared for her, and she hasn't spoken to her parents since. I still live with my grandmother. Ummm...pardon me for asking this but I just want to clarify. What's with the last sentence? Is this your story? Yeah it is. & I'm really scared to post it so I'm going to delete it. xxxx Yo I'm going to quote you again here because I'm concerned. It seems like my PM doesn't get to you / you don't notice it. You can delete your post now ^_^ Thanks for sharing it, though. It's okayyy~ I figured I was way over it so it didn't matter. but I'm not sure it was too good of an idea~ >___< I didn't get your pm because I was offline~! Sorry about that. ^,^ ♥♥ |

I was in a study class today, which was merged with a 4th year Religious and Moral education class.
I got bored of reading my book, woman on the edge of time, and set it down to listen to the RME teacher. She was telling the class about the after effects of Hiroshima, and she said something along these lines. I want you to understand the horror of it, not just for the people who died but for those who had to live as witness to it... I was told a story of an American troop who had landed in the city in the day or so after the bomb. While performing his duty's he stopped, hearing a rustling sound and looked in the direction of it, seeing a little girl limping toward him. And as she got nearer, the rustling got louder, and when she finally came into the light, he realised that what he though originally to be her shadow was the burned skin off her back which had fallen off and stayed attached to her at the heels. Understandably the whole class went quiet. |

One of the "scariest" things I've heard about Hiroshima, was that you could/can see the shadows of the people that melted away. |

In apartment where I lived everyone knew how The Ugly was Ugly. Cat that lived in our yard. Ugly loved three things in this world: fighting, eating garbage and... I don`t now how to say that... love. The combination of these things and living without a roof left on his body an ugly indelible traces: He had only one eye, and at another place was deep hole. On the another side was no ear and left foot had once been broken and fused under strange angle, thusgiving the impression that the cat was going to turn left all the time. It`s tail was cut. There remained only a small stub, which was constantly twitching all the time. If there weren`t many sores and yellow scabs covering his head and shoulders, it could be called a dark-gray-striped cat. Anyone who was looking at him, was showing one reaction: What an ugly cat! All the children were forbidden to touch him. Adults were throwing stones at him. They doused him with a hose when he tried to enter the house, or squeezed his paw so he could not leave. Ugly always showed the same reaction. If he was hosed - he was suffered until tormentors are not tired of this fun. If someone threw things at him - he rubbed on his legs, as though begging forgiveness. If he saw the children, he ran towards him and rubbed his head on his hands and loudly mewing, begging for affection. If someone took it in his hands, he immediately began to suck on a corner shirt or anything else, how he could reach.
Once Ugly tried to make friends with neighbors' dogs. In response to this he was terribly bitten. From my window I heard his screams and immediately ran to help. When I ran up to him, Ugly was almost dead. He lay there, curled up into a ball. His back, legs, back of the body completely lost their original shape. Sad life was coming to end. A trace of tears crossed his brow. While I carried him home, he was gasping and choking. I most afraid of damaging him even more. And in the meantime he tried to suck my ear. I pressed him to myself. He touched my head with paw. His golden eye turned to me, and I heard purring. Even when he was felling a terrible pain, the cat asked for one thing - drop of affection! And at that moment I thought that I was holding on my hands the most loving creature I ever met in my life. The most loving and most beautiful. He didn`t even try to bite or scratch me, or just leave. He just looked at me, confident that I'll be able to alleviate his pain. Ugly died in my hands before I get home, and I sat, holding him on knees. Later, I thought a lot about how one poor cripple was able to change my ideas about true purity of spirit, a true and boundless love. So it was actually. Ugly told me about compassion more than a thousand books, lectures or conversations. And I'll always be grateful to him. He had a crippled body, but good soul. It was time for me to learn how to love true and deep. Time to learn how to give all my soul to neighbor. Most want to be richer, more successful, to be loved and beautiful. And I will always strive to do one thing - to be Ugly ... excuse my bad English |

mcvf wrote: real stories or just internet ones? cause i once read a book, about this kid who lived a miserable life. yet, kept on going and became a very famous scientist. forgot the name, although i know its based on a true story.... sad book, but made me feel fortunate of having all these opportunities. The book is called "A Child Called It" by Dave Pelzer. I read it my senior year in High school. It was really sad. Here's part of the first chapter. |
