Light is a genuinely good person that came across an incredibly powerful object.
I really like Light he is an extremely well thought out character. He embodies quite a lot of respectable traights not only strong, capable, admirable, ambitious he is also careful of others feelings. However, I completely disagree with Kira's way of thinking and going about trying to create a perfect world. If you truly think about it a truly Utopian society is empirically not quite feasable. I don't want to say it's impossible because I like to give everything the benefit of a doubt. I believe this is the way L thinks, and that is why he would not of tried to create a Utopia with the Notebook. They are similiar in the traits they have however they both have different views of the world. |

Light wouldn't be so bad if he weren't such an ego-maniac who thinks he's above everything.
He's handsome, smart, practically perfect in every way until he claimed himself God. What a nuisance. I guess i would have like him if he never encountered stupid Ryuk and stupid tissue paper deathnote |

I pick antagonist. There's no such thing as peace. No matter what. There will always be trouble. Never try to silence us. Never. But there is no such thing as good. There's only neutral and evil.

Light was the protagonist but as the series progressed, his dream of being the God of the New World was getting "worthless" because he was so focused into NOT getting into trouble. He even had to kill every person who knew a little bit about the truth relating to Kira. In the end, it was for the best. |

But you can tell he was messed up. Just look at him when he was trying not to smile and laugh. Because he was so up to becomeing a god if he were to kill Near. ( Hate Near) (L was better) |

Imagine this, if Light would rule over the world, people would be like 'Dang, I dont' wanna talk, I dont' wanna move, I don't wanna look around, I'll just do what Kira wants me to do, or else Kira might dislike me and kill me...!' Scary!
I never took Light's side, not for a single second. The death note didn't turned him into a God, just like what he believed himself to be, it actually turned him into a dreadful serial killer (killing not only criminals but police officers, NBI agents, and some innocent people as well). The way I see the anime, Light is the antagonist of the story. I bet most of the viewers cheered more on L or Near rather than Light. |

Well he's the main character but he's also the antagonist. L and his successors were the protagonists. While in Light's eyes what he was doing was justice, he was still killing people. That said, I think Light's awesome

Well, unfortunately I'd have to agree with my friend who once said:
"L and Light showed us two sides of humans... L, is the idealistic human who's too good to be true. Light however, is the human who does good things but with the reality of committing a mistake." |
