Hi!

I started this group because Leiji's works need some love and appreciation on crunchyroll, even though most of it has been liscenced. Some of the wall posts expressed a lack of knowledge of his classics. Even I am a little in the dark asas many of his works have not been available or translated from the original Japanese.

Well thank you for starting this group X3

I myself have tried starting a group for the "Classics of Manga" but i never worked out right ^^;

Anyway I'm here because well I love the Captain Harlock series and recently started watching the series Galaxy Railways and saw the move Galaxy Express 999.

I myself help that maybe the Captain Harlock manga might make it to scans but I can only hope.

Thanks for starting this group ^^

Well... I was invited... And I accepted because I grew up on his stuff. One of my first animes that I saw when I was little was Harlock and that left an indelible (sp?) mark on me and the way I'd see the world. XD I only wish MORE of his work was available here on Crunchy Roll. Sure, a lot of his work has been picked up but not all of it. Actually, didn't we actually HAVE a lot more of his work on here until the big Toei crackdown that forced them to take down a BUNCH of stuff...? Not the least of which being the original Harlock series and... .......................................Mazinger Z... Stupid Toei... >_<

My friend this is where veoh and youtube come into the equation X3

Veoh normally have the whole episodes (easier for download)

But I shouldn't be encouraging you .... don't go on those websites ;)

Just a quick introduction and thoughts.

I dig Matsumoto's work. Good stuff indeed.

I found out about Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999 and Captain Harlock watching it on Spanish TV. Later I saw GE999 on a Public TV station in New York.

As for Youtube. Pretty good. Veoh not so much even though I have an account there too. But you had to download their software to watch the programs which takes up a lot of hard drive space.

Hope to see this forum grow.

I joined Crunchyroll at all because of Galaxy Express 999... Ever since I first heard of it and tracked down some episodes, it has been my favorite anime, hands down. Up to now I've been relying on burning fansubs, but with this new arrangement on CR, that has shut down (and on the one hand I'm glad it's somewhere in an official form, but on the other annoyed that I can't actually watch any episode from 31 onwards on an actual television).

But GE999 draws you into the Leijiverse... In everything from chosing between Space Symphony Maetel and Maetel Legend for which prequel you prefer (Legend here) to actually planning on riding the Himiko waterbus when visiting Japan (this coming November!) to taking advantage of Harlock episodes on CR (which I'm going to do right after posting this). Happening across this group, I figured I might as well join up!
