So what will happen to non-Anime Members? Will they still be able to watch the anime uploads? Some have stated non-members are still able to watch it but after a 7 day delay.. but I have not seen any solid proof stated so far about this issue.

Actually Shinji mentions it in the quoted text:
"When do we get to watch it?
The Anime Membership begins on Jan 8th. When it launched, Anime Members will get simulcast (access on same day it airs in Japan) for currently airing shows, while normal users get it later (currently 1 week later). For older episodes of currently airing shows (as well as older shows), we may release it on a schedule or all at once. We will have a release calendar (like a TV Guide) available soon!"

I'm kind of curious about the region thing. Meaning some videos, some regions (countries) can't view videos. I live in the U.S so I can view it, but maybe Shinji, you should update on it? Because you might be losing some users as I have screencaped here:

i do have a question about these 0 day subs for many shows, such as Naruto. who will be subbing these shows. Like many, i've been accustomed to watching high quality and clean subs from experienced subbers. will we see the same quality or is this just going to be a hack job by a one person team, or from people with no experience at this at all

I have just looked into the line-up (http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime_lineup?pg=0) and I must say that I am rather disappointed. Only those who live in the US and Canada will have the full packet that is available. People who live in other regions, can only watch the older anime (which aren't the ones who airs one hour after Japan), but still have to pay the full price.

Since there are region-restrictions, it is only natural that every part of the region pays another amount of subscription, according to the anime that will be available to them.

If almost the whole world is restricted, then the companies leaves us no choice but to download anime illegally, simply because most anime are not licensed yet and thus not available in the stores. Moreover, anime which are 'licensed' can only be bought from foreign lands in US or Asia. It usually takes long to get them shipped, not even mentioning the shipping-price. I hoped Crunchyroll would get rid of the problem by offering their services world-wide, but as it is now, I doubt the anime-industry is making any progress to stop people downloading anime online.

^ I must say I'm quite disappointed with the current line-up, the titles that I want to watch are not available in my region. I hope the titles he'll announce in 2009 will be available in Asia, or else this site will lose a lot of its population.

Yeah, hopefully Shinji and gang can work it out with those companies to allow world wide release.

I can understand why they exclude Japan, because people in Japan get to see the episodes first and I guess majority of them understand Japanese. so there is no point in seeing the episodes subbed in english.

But classifying us CR users by regions is the same as putting us in different classes of people. What happened to the internet? I have always thought that internet destroy the boundaries and allow people of all nations to connect to each other??

I was kind of excited that I could watch stuff like Gintama and would like to re-watch Slam Dunk and stuff, but most of them are available in the USA.

I hope to hear good news from Shinji and gang very very very soon.

Should I get the membership or not? *still thinking about it*HARD

I understand why they need clearance to be allowed to stream to people only in certain regions - for each part of the world they need the OK from the local distributor to allow legal access.

Anyway - I'm in for a membership and hopefully the details work out (and us Europeans get all the shows as well ;))

Well, nothing much to say. This Anime Membership will not affect me at all since I'm going to decide according to my best interest.
